On the opening window after double-clicking skyrim icon, I click PLAY.

Windows opens an alert window asking if Bethesda can make changes to my computer, I click yes.

Then it takes me back to the opening window of Skyrim and the whole process repeats itself.

Anyone having this problem??

PLEASE HELP, thanks!

Ahh sounds like a "UAC Loop." There are a couple things you can try that *should* solve the issue:

First off right click the .exe launcher, click properties, click on the "compatibility" tab, then click on "change settings for all users". This will open up a new dialogue box. In the privilege level section at the bottom of the dialogue box, put a check beside the "run this program as an administrator". Hit Apply, Yes (in the "Do you want to allow this program to make changes to windows", OK, and OK to close all the windows.

Second, if the first option doesn't work all the time, you can right click the launcher icon and simply hit the "run as administrator" option. However, I highly suggest you still follow through with the first step I described above before doing this one. That will save you always right clicking on the launcher every time you want to play skyrim.

I tried both of these. It still loops....

ARGH!!

Thanks for the help, but I'm not sure what to do other than uninstall and try re-installing....

Anyone else can help??

Are you talking about Special Edition? Oldrim doesn't have a Mods tab. The Skyrim Special Edition forum is this way, but I'll try to help you anyway.

In Windows Explorer, find your Plugins.txt file. It should be something like C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition. Make a copy of Plugins.txt as Plugins.bak (or whatever name you like) and then open Plugins.txt. I know it warns you not to edit the file, but that's why we made a backup. To disable a mod, remove the asterisk (*) to the left of it. For example:

# This file is used by Skyrim to keep track of your downloaded content.
# Please do not modify this file.
*JessicaAlbaDemonHunterSE.esp
BijinAIO_SSE-3.1.1.esp

In this case, JessicaAlbaDemonHunterSE.esp is enabled and BijinAIO_SSE-3.1.1.esp is disabled.
