Favourite Race Mod

When it was launched a lot of people critisized the aesthetic of the npcs and how hard it was to create a decent pc in vanilla Oblivion. For me if it is hard indeed to built a nice character with the face generator, I've always managed to get a character I like...All the races in vanilla Oblivion are interesting enough...

 

Obviously like most of you I have some race mod like the famous Mystice Elf Mod or the Night Elves but to be honest almost all my characters are created with the original Races. Almost because I have created one custom Race character. And I used the tremendously well made Clouded Leopard Mod by Slof for one of my most charismatic charater...

I always like since Morrowind being a Dark Elf, they fit me personality, they are not as evil as made out, but they have a darker side and can be, they are neutral is how I play, neither all good, or all evil, though I have my moments and moods.. they are passionate, hot tempered, yet extremely loyal as my companion Neeshka...

 

Recently though since this is about favourite race mods.. I am playing as Capuccines Aquamer, I like the gills and that I can breathe underwater, and I have a partiality to Elves..Capuccine does have a sense of humour, says they are part high elf that mated with a willing slaughter fish... :ohmy:

 

But I feel in them more a Elven/Mermaid kinda feeling.. which appeals to my deeper soul..I like being bluish with the blue Fin like a Mohawk..The eyes are interesting..The race is simply lovely..But I say as far as uniqueness and looks that Aquamer is something, but I feel to much gentleness, in her, that is nice,maybe I just need to get in touch with the Aquamers slaughter fish side.. :ermm:

Not that Dark Elf's can't be nice , we can...when the mood strikes them,.but with my moods, I am not sure I can get into teh Aquamer as I do my Dark Elf.. I know that sounds silly , but I get a feel for the races..and the Dark Elf is just me..

 

I find myself just roaming aimelessly around itseems , like I get more into the game , playing as a Dark Elf going off with my Dark Elf ever faithful companion Neeshka, and getting into mischief, and good fights, in dudgeons..

 

I want to explore the world now, done the main quest so many times, using alternate beginning help change it a wee bit, with many mods that make it more interesting once you been around the block to many times..Now I just delivered the bloody amulet and wiped my hands of the whole main quest.. I feel bloodyell they are blades, they got the bloody amulet, they can save the world for a change..or not..

 

Now I just want to explore places I never been before..I even found a cave with this giant mud crab..Bloodyell it was huge..

 

Anyway the Aquamer, I guess thats my favourite non vanilla race mod..that even tempted me into trying, so that says something about it....for I have never played a custom race before not one tempted me enough this one did that says something for I am a tried and true Dark Elf..

 

I like Aquamer looks, and the depths abput her, she is unique, I will probably wander about some more..for she seems to fit one side of me, but I probably will go back to my dark Elf self, eventually, cause I only seem content in game when I am..Who knows..

Maybe I need to create a race, Part Dark Elf part Aquamer, then both side of me will be happy..Confused yet, well trying being me..

 

That I am even posting, in something other than about a mod comment, or a technical problem, is a miracle in and by iteslf..so go easy on me..

My favourite Custom race would have to be the Skyrim Khajiit. I've never found a race that suited me this well:

 

A) They're a beast race, so vampirism doesn't affect their faces as much, and

B) I play a human in just about every other game I've ever played, and I just get sick of it.

 

I never really got into Argoinians or normal Khajiit, because their starting skills never suited my play style. But the Skyrim Khajiit have Nord stats which suit me perfectly. Also, I never really liked the Nord racials. The Frost spell they get is practically useless at higher levels, and there's only a few enemies that actually use Frost magic against you for your resistance to do anything. But a Khajiit's Eye of Fear is useful even into later levels, and having a cheap (Or continuous) Night Eye spell eliminates having to buy or find spells or items to do it for you.

 

 

However, I will always have a soft spot for the Breton race. Excellent Mages, My favourite (stock) hairstyles, and was the first race to really show me the benefits of Illusion magic :D

This is a tough one because I'm torn between the White Tabaxi and the Lineage II Elf.

Both give me the thrill a character should give you,but at a different level. My Tabaxi is more the animalistic part of me I think,stealthy,yet strong,cunning and alert.

The Elf for me is the more alluring of the two. Pretty,sexy,with that sophisticated look,yet able to defend herself when the need arises. In short I can't pick one over the other because each holds a niche in my game, and in my heart.
