  1. 1. Spawn types?

    • Static spawns. I like knowing where hard things are so that I can avoid those areas till later.
      4
    • Random spawns. I like being suprised by something new being in a spot I've been through several times.
      10
    • Static bosses, random fodder. Hard stuff is always in the same spot, but weaker stuff is never in the same place.

    • Random bosses, static fodder. Know where to find specific weaker things, but still occasionally run into something that kills me.

  2. 2. Spawn strength?

    • Static strength. I like knowing exactly how many hits it takes to kill something.
      4
    • Leveled strength. Spawns that get stronger as I level make them a constant challenge.

    • Static fodder, leveled bosses.
      2
    • Hybrid spawns. Uses an ability to set a base HP for the spawn, and then makes use of limited leveling so that things aren't always the same.
      11
  3. 3. Flavored or unflavored?

    • No variations of the same creature. I don't like trying to figure out which ones are harder.
      3
    • Variations with the same basic attributes and attacks. Keeps things interesting, and allows for some flexibility for both leveled and static spawns.
      13
    • Variations with different atributes or attacks. I love how one version is totally different from the others. It allows re-use of the same model, while forcing me to adopt totally different tactics.

Well IMHO i would rather prefer area leveled creatures....something like: here's the beginning location, weak things here, there is a dark and evil forest, strong ones there :)

I second that. There's infinite fun in walking between creatures between creatures that you struggled with a while back and then swatting them aside like flies. Mind, the experience should be lower for killing those creatures though.

I prefer a constant challenge. I want to have to never take an enemy for granted, I want surprize and tough combat always!

I really can't believe you mean that... Tough combat all the time would just be the most depressing thing ever. At the beginning of the game things should be tough (except for mudcrabs and rats :P) but if you've spent untold hours levelling a character, maxing his skills, completing world-saving quests, gathering legendary weapons and artifacts, and still find it challenging to take down a bandit or a marauder... man, that would just make me think "what was the point?"

Static monsters are a must imo, with bosses levelling with you but at a slower rate. So once you have checked off all the contents of that list above, a boss shouldn't really be too difficult either - reflecting how badass your character has become. Works like a reward system. That's my main issue with vanilla - there is no reward for levelling, you can just complete the whole main quest at level 1. And you might say better-looking armour is a reward, but I remember when I got my first ever piece of daedric equipment (the gloves), waltzed into Anvil thinking I was the bee's knees, only to be semi-greeted by a lowly hunter - walking by me with a casual "hello!" in his full daedric armour...

Morrowind had the levelling system perfect. Daedric was incredibly rare, mobs were easy to kill when you were badass, and there were still some truly epic battles (mainly in the expansions) which could even give your high level character a damn hard time. Match something like this with an add-on, and i'd definitely protect your ass if we were in jail together.
