Spewed
First of all, thanks for reading. I've been trying to replace NPC's hair in Skyrim(this will be my first mod). I'm aiming to replace nearly ever NPC's hair in the game with Coolsims hair textures and "Apachi Sky hair", to make the game more suited to my liking. I've tried several methods to get this to work and they are as follows. First of all, I tried using the "NPC Editor" program that is here on the Nexus, I assumed this would be an easy to way to go about what I'm attempting to do. I selected my NPC, in this case I used Aela The Huntress, I replaced her hair then saved the mod as a BSA file. I placed both the BSA, and .ESP files in my Data folder. I then activated the ESP, loaded up the game and Aela's hair was still the default vanilla style hair. After that, I attempted to do it where you do not save it as a BSA file, instead you have to copy the meshes and textures folder into the your Data direction as well as the respective ESP file, this method also did not work. After that, I decided to use the Creation Kit and I followed this tutorial. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1caswZCPlo&feature=youtu.be this also did not work. I'm not understand the issue here. I am placing the files in the correct directories, IE my DATA folder. It just doesn't seem to want to work. I've tried several different characters as well, including Ulfric. Note: I did not delete the original textures or meshes, assuming that what I'm doing would override those. Hopefully someone here can help me so that I can get this project started. Thanks in advance to those interested in helping. Edited April 16, 2012 by Spewed
