will577
Im sorry if this thread has been done to death but I had a look over the interwebs but didn't find anything similar. I'm fairly new to PC gaming so I am not familiar with how powerful a particular graphics card is etc. The specs are:i7 2600 @3.40 ghz, 8mb256SSD + 2TB HD16GB RamAMD Radeon HD7770 2GB DDR5 I have been told by friends that this is a pretty capable rig but wondered if anyone had any experience playing Skyrim with these specs? What settings could I run? Sorry for the Noob question. Thanks Edit: Sorry if this is in the wrong place. As I don't have a problem as such I didn't think it would belong in technical Support. fms1
It should run Skyrim on ULTRA no problem even with high res. textures. If you do have any problems it will be due to Skyrim's limits, and not your hardware.

antisphere06
Great, thanks for the reply. This is going to be the longest 3 weeks of my life!Well you could do better what is your budget?I see a problem already like the 2600 cpu drop it and get a 2500k with a noctua nh-d14 overclock it to 4.7ghz and that is a huge performance gain. fms1
Except that Skyrim and Oblivion also, do not play well with overclocking, this is very well documented. Though I don't have any experience with this, I have read it a lot though.

Though I don't have any experience with this, I have read it a lot though.I gained a 10-15 fps gain going from stock to 4.7ghz and a 15-20 fps gain from stock to 5ghz.
