[MOD Request] Speech XP On Gray Options

I'm really not a fan of how Speech is increased. The only two ways I can prove from having tested, is Trial By Fire (speech challenges/checks), and by using "speech options" that the game considers "new", AKA that it thinks you haven't done yet. Haggling, has not been proven to consistently increase Speech, which leads me to believe that it's the "new" haggling DIALOGUES that cause the increases. Once you tap those out, no more increases, from what I have been able to test.

 

 

There are some tricks to this, like angering certain towns and trying to pass a speech check on guards... and sure, you could just play through quests and talk to whoever you find, but then I just started to run out of easy people to find and talk to. You see, many of the denizens of the towns are considered to have similar dialogue, which means sometimes when you exhaust one person's dialogue, it counts as exhausting almost 3/4 of the town's dialogue. Those are all opportunities missed!

 

 

I feel it is more of an anti-grind measure than a design decision (a decision that doesn't make sense due to every other stat and skill being easily grindable anyway), and I heavily disagree with it, to the point where I feel a mod to remedy this issue is necessary. New speech options should instead give higher experience, whereas grayed out options should ALWAYS give at least one experience point in Speech.

 

 

 

The big challenge is I need to know if this can even be done, and if so, which files? Which .pak and is it a LUA script, or an XML file?

So far, \Libs\Tables\text\dialogue_functions.xml in Tables.pak is the closest I'm getting in my search, and I don't think it's related at all to Henry's dialogue options, just scripts ran on greetings with certain conditions. I could REALLY use some help with this, there's a lot of files to sift through. The information I found in this pak just seems to be either metadata or database information about the game and where to find certain files when necessary. I need to find the behavior of the dialogue, the thing that gives the Speech XP when the player selects topics for Henry to say.

Haven't gotten any replies and haven't made any progress to finding what needs to be modded. I might have to wait for the developers to provide better mod support so I can find what files or interfaces I need to access to change what I want changed. It doesn't seem to be something provided so easily in the PAK files.
