Woverdude Posted April 17, 2012 Share Posted April 17, 2012 The Way of the Monk mod has reached its beta-testing stage! If you want to learn more about the mod, you can read the ongoing WIP thread. If you would like to apply to become a beta-tester, please read this blog post. The Way of the Monk mod overhauls the Unarmed combat system by adding two new skills, dozens of items and enchantments, and perks. The skills do not replace existing vanilla skills, but are a series of scripts that run in the background. If you are interested in playing a monk-style character, then please take a look at my mod. In the next couple of days I will post a very detailed brief on all of the new features, and what to expect in later versions. Rynjin Posted April 19, 2012 Share Posted April 19, 2012 Hrm. Well the Apostates are in the world, as are the Fist Weapons so far. The only problem? I cannot interact whatsoever with any of the Pillars. Not Aptitude, Choice, Progress, Rewalking, or Way. Haven't tried the others, such as Shadow, but I assume they aren't working either. I think it has to do with the archive that holds them. For some reason it does not seem to be working. I am in the process of trying to figure out how to fix the archive. Stay tuned. Edit:It doesn't SEEM as if any mods are incompatible, that I've tried anyway. Most notably the Guardian Stone Overhaul doesn't interfere at all. Although (and I'm not SURE if this is a glitch), the "Unarmed weapons" seem to: A.) Still give experience in One Handed (and I'm not certain if they give Unarmed EXP) B.) Not be affected by conventional Unarmed damage modifiers (ex: Gloves of the Pugilist enchantment) Edit 2: Actually, I don't seem to be gaining Unarmed/Unarmored experience AT ALL, even after I swapped to bare fists instead of the weapons. Though I can't be sure, the Level Progress text from the Pillar of Progress is MUCH too small for me to make out. I'm not sure if that's because of my setup or not though. Addendum to Edit 1: They actually DO seem to be affected by Unarmed damage modifiers, but not 100% of them. I.E: The Iron Claws have 5 base damage, I have 30 points of extra Unarmed damage. Each claw now does 17 damage. Final edit before I go to sleep: The Shadow Pillar gives the Dimensional Teleport Power The Elemental Pillar does not provide the Elemental damage on strike.
