What mods are you using?

Funny you mention Tales of Lycanthropy. I was just considering getting this mod, albeit for entirely different reasons.

See, I play a vigilant of Stendarr. Nord Warrior with just barely a touch of magical aptitude. It was enough for the vigilant to snap him up before he was sent off to war for some other faction. I even made some basic changes to Vigilant: Now they are carry Silver weapons, and their necklace prevents diseases like those passed from the supernatural menaces they slay. Sort of like Tamriel's Witchers, they are.

Except there was a problem with treating the Vigilant like this: There aren't any real enemies for the Vigilant to slay in Skyrim. Sure you run across the occasional Vampire or the even more rare Daedra. But they are both so incredibly rare - and so incredibly difficult, in my game, at low levels - as to be unworthy of a dedicated Vigilant play through.

But Tales of Lycanthropy changes this. It makes Werewolves a real threat in Skyrim. They are out there, stalking innocents in the night, actively hunting the hunters. It turns the Vigilant's role on its ear and makes you the prey. Really, actively makes you the prey.

And it does this, while also temping you with the power of the beasts that hunt you. Why fight the battle? Why not give into that rage and become the monster you hunt? Why not revel in that power, that blood lust?

So yeah, I think I will end up with Lycanthropy in my load order, and see where it takes my new Nord Vigilant, and whether he fights the good fight or gives into the darkness.

Moonpaths is another mod I am considering. Right now I am on a new, low level play through, which lets me take my time and install mods slowly. Which helps prevent conflicts and isolate errors.

On my first play through (second if you count the 250 hr. PS3 version which was abandoned) I am playing a Nord that just seemed to to hit the jackpot out of nowhere. Having lived a simple life he suddenly finds himself the center of all kinds of attention and lots and lots of gold. He doesn't have a real problem with the Dragonborn thing but he is intent on playing it by ear and soaking up what he can. He is more of a Ranger than anything else and primarily sticks to that lifestyle. He rarely sleeps indoors.

I love playing an immersion style of game. I am currently at 240 hrs. on this play through and I have only been up on Hrothgar twice. I use a lot of MODs to correct some things where I feel Beth missed the mark. Face, body and user interface type MODs. These are of course personal taste and we all have different likes and dis-likes in those areas. So I wont bother listing those.

I use the following MODs that greatly enhance my immersion experience;

Better Horses

Horses for followers

Frostfall Hypothermia camping survival

Camping Lite

EDWS Enhanced Dynamic Weather System

Enhanced Night Skyrim

Followers can Relax

High Quality 3D Map

HiRes legible Road Signs

Mike Foxs Darker Nights

RIS- Real Ice and Snow

Salvage Material

Sounds of Skyrim

Total Realism- Basic Needs

W.A.T.E.R. Water and Terrain Enhancement Redux

I have run these MODs together for many hours without any compatibility or performance problems. I run an average of 60fps.

Actually I think there are more of us 'immersion' types out there than you think. We just tend to get tightly wrapped in our immersive worlds. It's always nice to converse with one as a reminder we aren't alone.

My current character likes the vigilants, perhaps he'll run into yours out there someday
