shurikan88,

You explained that very well.

I have two follow-up questions, however...if I may?

First, if I want Lydia to be 100% of my level would the first number in the setlevel command be "1000"?

And, second, if I want to go back to a situation like the one described by Rooker75--with Lydia sort of keeping pace with me but me having to re-set her class with every level up, how do I do that?

The reason I ask is because the setclass command seemed to boost her health as well (presumably stamina, also) and since the setlevel command is so specific, I'm guessing it won't address health and stamina leveling.

Thats right man, just set the 1st number to 1000 (100.0 without the point). Im not TOO sure about the second question. If you do the "disable" and "enable" on Lydia again, it may take her back to "non-levelling", but I haven't tried it.

I think with the setlevel command, EVERY skill will be boosted at level up time (Im not how much they get boosted by though). Next time I play Skyrim I'll use "getav" to check a few of her skills (like health, magica and stamina), then again after levelling up to see if they've increased. I'm pretty sure they will though. As for the other lesser skills like the different magic types, different combat types, sneak etc, I think they increase the same as yours do, whenever you perform the corresponding skills in the right context (like succesfully sneaking past somebody, or succesfully picking a lock).

I'll try that test out as soon as I can and let you know!

Sorry I took long to reply, but I have the results now anyway.

After checking the stats before and after levelling up, I can confirm that for SOME reason, the 3 main stats (health, magicka & stamina) DONT change, and neither do any of the other skills. Its strange though, because I was pretty sure that Lydia was staying consistant with her abilities in combat now. I think I did the "setlevel" trick on her when I was on level 25ish, now I'm on level 35, and Lydia is still able to "hold her own" in a fight. Sometimes I think she's almost TOO strong, because theres times where I can just stand there and watch Lydia kill my enemies for me. I'm thinking I might have to drop her down a few levels (lol), because like you wanted to, I also set lydia to the same level as me (100.0%).

Maybe the stats ARE increasing, but for some reason the console or the engine isn't recording those changes. It seems unlikely, but it could be the case, because if she still had the same stats as we did on level 25, then by now she would probably be getting her ass kicked again.

Well I'm at level 22 and Lydia did seem a bit weaker and more likely to need healing potions and the like. I leveled her the other day but haven't had a chance to test her effectiveness...or at least how effective she seems to be, since.

This HAS to work, or atleast to some extent. Im sure of it, because before I used "setlevel" on her, she was so hopelessly weak (even with the sickest armour), that she would get absolutely BRUTALISED by enemies as insignificant as bandits! Sometimes all it would take was ONE hit from a well placed greatsword or battle-axe, and she'd be on the floor crawling around. So you can imagine how things went when we were fighting powerful mages or those dragonpriests. After the level trick, she was hardly ever knocked down again.

Like I said, right now she's so strong, that I may have to take her down a notch! "I'm the dragonborn Lydia, not you FFSLOL. I think I'm gonna have to demote you. There can be only ONE dragonborn!"

Yeah, at Level 50, even I have a hard time kicking her ass. She's vicious with that bash and slash thing she does.
