Deleted14428224User
Hey guys! I've somewhat started using the GECK last night for the first time, and I thought to myself.. hmm, maybe some custom sounds would be nice! But when I added the sounds, I place my weapon in the game, go to collect the weapon and fire it, there is no sound at all besides the bullet hitting the wall and the bolt action feed/clip reload. The audio files are of .Wav format (as I read, they are required to be .Wav?) I have added these sounds to the "3D, 2D and Dist." options in the "Art & Sound" tab.The audio files are added into the Data/sounds/fx/wpn folder. They are also added into the GECK's "Audio -> Sound" tab. Perhaps my delivery of the actual sound files is wrong? Are they required to be a certain size? A certain Bit quantity, higher quality? Any help is appreciated, thank you for reading.
EPDGaffney
I don't know if dialogue is any different, but I don't see why it should be. This is from one of my custom-recorded dialogue files:https://prnt.sc/itebzs If you can convert your file to match some of these specifications, it may work. If not, I'll look a bit more for you when I get back.
Deleted14428224User
Hmm, strange. I just went back into the GECK, and now my sounds won't even make a preview sound (sound made upon selection). I'm doing something wrong, I just can't put my finger on it.
EPDGaffney
These are from one of them popular weapon sound mods:2D -- https://prnt.sc/ivrnm23D -- https://prnt.sc/ivrnrr3D Distance -- https://prnt.sc/ivro18 Sample rate is 48K for all of them, and they're all 16-bit .wav files. 2D is stereo, and the two 3D ones are mono. This is the directory:https://prnt.sc/ivrprf It says Fallout New VegasOLD because that's my, em, old directory. It broke when I installed my OS again, but this all worked fine before that, so that is the correct directory except it would be in the Fallout New Vegas folder. GECK refuses to preview a lot of sounds that work fine in-game for me, so I wouldn't necessarily go by that.
