kettering
I went back to one of my old characters today and realized that I can't level him up. The level bar is full, the level up music played, it told me to 'go to the skills menu to level up', but the level up option doesn't actually appear. It just remains as 'skills' and when I click on it I have no perks, nor will it let me allocate new points into stamina/magicka etc. I went back to an earlier save before he reached level twelve, but the same thing happened when I did reach it. It's not a mod problem.
Nacira
Hi, I have the same problem on my save. I'm searching for a solution but I see no one help this guy...Please help me. EDIT : No idea why but reloading a 5 minutes earlier save in which I've already had the "level-up" message and uping a skill (in this case alchemy), helped me. No message pop up but upping the skill de-blocked the "level-up" option in the menu. :) Edited January 13, 2013 by Nacira
gamefever
It very well can be a mod problem, There are a number of overhual mods that would cause this problem,it could be that those mods are now absent or that you started a new character with a newly installed overhual that requires a fresh start. There are a ton of perk mods that would do a similiar thing to your game. On top of that there are a number of scripting mods available and pretty much new people don't understand that for the most part adding and removing mods pretty much destroys your saves. The only mods you can add to a game without fear are texture mods. Then you have to worry about can my computer handle this. The next easiest mod to add remove are personel armor mods that do not use scripts. Some do. Leveled list mods will cause issues when you remove the item from the world now you'll have currently spawned into the world empty refernces Using an ealier save would help if that earlier save was made with your now curent load order or had such a small number of changes between then and now. Nacira
Thank you for your explanation, it's probably that for me. I've a lot of mods and I'm changing things regularly... but I've experienced Morrowind and Oblivion so I've got the habit to always make new saves. It takes a lot of space on my drive but I prefer that to loosing everything. Currenty, I think I've about 400 saves. :D In my case, I wasn't sure a 5 minutes earlier save would work (since my character should have level-up before that one too) but it did it for me. I hope this will help for others. :)
