Nite16
Hi everyone! Thanks in advance for reading. I installed a mod called "Companion Followers" that aimed to enhance follower mechanics in Skyrim - but it appears to have been abandoned by the mod author and I was hoping to move on to other companion enhancement mods (hopefully Ultimate Follower Overhaul). However, after uninstalling, I'm finding that immediately after any load screen or fast-travel, my follower is immediately equipping the default Steel Armor. I can see it happen right after load, the actor "blinks" and the Steel Armor is equipped. My thought is that it is script related, since using the command "tscr" stops the regenerate and switch to default from occurring. I did further research and I think I've narrowed down the root cause. I opened "Companion Followers" in the CK, and I'm finding that it looks like in order to accomplish some of the functionality, they attached Papyrus scripts to every follower to regenerate and then equip their default armor set. I'm thinking these are from Companion Followers since when I don't have the esp loaded the scripts don't exist on the actor form. Problem is, even when I remove this .esp, the scripts still seem to be executing since my followers continue to regenerate all of their armor and equip Steel Armor. At this point, I've tried everything. I've tried changing the armor to be equipped in Companion Followers to "NONE", then saving my game and unloading the esp, I've tried resurrecting the actor, recycleactor-ing the actor...nothing seems to work! Is there a way to check in-game if these scripts are still associated to my followers? Is there a way to unregister or remove the scripts? Any help would be much appreciated! M3rvin
Scripts aren't part of the .esp file like in Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas, they're stored in an extra folder (Skyrim\Data\Scripts). Did you remove the scripts from this mod from there as well?
Nite16
Scripts aren't part of the .esp file like in Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas, they're stored in an extra folder (Skyrim\Data\Scripts). Did you remove the scripts from this mod from there as well? I've attached an image of the Creation Kit showing what I think to be the root cause of the issue. I have deleted everything in the \Scripts folder and the problem persists even with the mod in the screenshot and all other mods removed.
