Arnyboy
I have finally got this game(GOTY edition) and i'm trying to update it with a patch but it keeps giving me a message stating that it can find a folder with the same name however its contents are different. Is this because its the GOTY edition it already has the patch or is their another problem such as vista.PS does vista create any other problems if it does can you tell me thanks
DrIstvaan
I don't know if Vista has any problems with Oblivion, but I do know for sure that you don't need to patch the GOTY edition with official patches (I have this version, too), as it is patched to the max already. However, you might want to apply the Unofficial Oblivion Patch for the vanilla game and for the expansions, too. bben46
The GOTY version is supposed to have the latest patch already. Vista users may have to disable a security function known as UAC. If you have downloaded and installed, and the mod is appearing in your Data Files List, but not in your game check to see if UAC is turned on. If so. Look here for instructions on how to turn it off. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vis...-windows-vista/
Arnyboy
So if I turn of the UAC any mods I have should appaer in game, because one does which is a race mods but other mods such as reskins don't appear to work will I have to reinstall the mods when I have turned of the UAC or will it work normally without reinstall
bben46
As I don't use Vista, I don't know for sure. But I would suspect that they should work. If not, try reinstalling one and see.
DrIstvaan
Those reskins you're talking about... Didn't they come with files called "ArchiveInvalidation.txt"? If they did, make one with this name in the Oblivion root directory and copy-paste the contents of all ArchiveInvalidation.txt files that came with the mods into that.
