csb
Oh lord, I am sooo biting my tongue. I've encountered male bias online (gaming and just chat) for years. Usually it's a handful of immature jerks. After years of a handful of jerks though, my enthusiasm for MMOs finally waned. Though for you other women out there that get asked by some (epithets withheld) that crassest of questions ... "Wanna f--k?" My answer has always been, "Yes, just not with you." Then I click Ignore (and screenshot and email to the moderators/whoever). I didn't used to do the Ignore bit, but their ranting tirades got too repetitious for me. Oh wait, does that put me in the last category? Probably, in their narrow, twisted minds. lmao
eltucu
The "ignore buttons" is kinda a reality shaping tool. "Press X to remove annoying people of my world" :P
Deleted472477User
I never used to have too many issues in games, except now and then on WoW, but last month, I think someone dropped Jerkass Bombs on every server in both factions. I put more people on ignore for being rude and snotty in one month than I did the entire four years I've played.
Aegrus
Waaaay too many mysogynists (did I spell that right?) around. I'm very disappointed in my fellow males at times like this. I don't often get trolled out of games, as I usually do pretty average (kd of about 1:1 in shooters, I usually just get lost in the middle of the crowd), but it has happened a few times. It really affects some games more than others, though. For some reason, it seems like more obscure games have more mature communities. Perhaps it's because the majority of idiots are also impatient dolts with the attention span of field mice, and most impatient dolts just cluster to the big, new game releases without knowing about or tracking down less publicized or older releases. True or not, it often seems that the most well known games attract the most childish idiots. I'd like any woman who's reading this right now to know- not all men are colossal a-holes. Please don't judge us by the lowest common denominator or our gender. Perhaps if we all just ignore them, they won't be able to breed, or replicate, or whatever it is that soulless, inhuman husks do to procreate, and they'll die out in a few generations. It's more likely they'll make dozens of babies in stupid circumstances and overpopulate.
