LE Colossal Whiterun

Whiterun is by far the most used location in Skyrim.

 

But is it as big as it should be?

 

Whiterun is the center of Skyrim. It should be a lot more vast, its in the center of a large valley afterall, and being a central hub of it all, there should be lots of buildings, unique shops, homes, travelers, inns, ect.

 

There are lots of mods that redo areas, or add new areas, this shouldn't be any different.

 

I'd like to see the city of Whiterun trimmed, grown, and populated. At least 4 times larger then it currently is. I don't care if you have to add dead-end buildings that don't actually open, I just want the immersion of a large city. Real cities are large, yet skyrim cities seem to have an inn or two, a couple shops, and a few houses...

Next, after size, I'd like to see the city walls repaired. Whiterun should be a wealthy city, they could definitely afford to maintain their walls.

And lastly, and optionally, Population. With the larger city I'd like to see more diverse peoples. Even faceless NPC's are just fine (Aka: "Citizen" "Nord" "Flustered lady" ect). In fact, Faceless NPCs are a great idea! Its illogical that the Dovahkiin will know every citizen by name, or that every citizen will be notable.

 

 

The same could be done with Solitude and Windhelm.

Your request may be not far off completion, I am creating a mod that makes the immediate vanilla location more dense and more city like, it takes a lot of work and time. I could possibly expand white run to make it bigger as well, but who knows what the mod will eventually become when I finish it, just letting you know

I'd love a big urban sprawl to play through. Bigger the better so don't be afraid to go huge! ^.^

I would hugely appreciate if somebody made a mod which reconstructed the Whiterun outer-defense walls. It seems that they have built some wooden constructs to 'temporarily' repair the walls.

I'd understand if the tower-parts would be demolished as they would be the first targets for catapults etc(the civil war mission had catapults), but at least the most of the walls should be healthy in my opinion.

 

I also find it funny that Riften is said to be fighting poverty & stuff like that, yet they got only 2 job-/homeless persons.

 

"Crowded Cities" is also a nice mod to bring more city-feeling to the biggest cities. Too bad they tend to be a bit lifeless tho. "Travelers of Skyrim" may bring some nice addition as well, as i use both.
