Fragginborn
http://lamplight.pcgamingnetwork.com/tmp/lamplight.png I've started what was going to be a simple little town within a cave and I've come to realize that it can actually be more than that. I am thinking of creating a new joinable faction - The Bandit Faction. I know we have the thieves guild, but a bandit/pirate guild (or faction) would be people much less likely to be trustworthy and full of anarchy, backstabbing, and treachery (ie...fun!). I was thinking the cavern town would be a cool bandit HQ type of place (think Tortuga). At least a place where they congregate since they would be highly unlikely to accept any kind of leader or government to have an official HQ. If you can create quests, do animations or just give ideas, any help would be appreciated! If you are interested please visit the mod's web site @ http://lamplight.pcgamingnetwork.com Cheers! BeastlyBeast
I don't think you'd need animations, but maybe you can create quests. I think the first quest could be to meet the bandit king. And, since bandits are basically plunderers; they kill people and then steal their stuff; you could probably just have the first quest be a simple initiation. Go kill such-and-such, and steal some item that he has which the bandit king wanted for a long time, but for some reason couldn't get it himself :P But, seriously. Can't be part of a guild without proving you're worth joining. So an initiation quest would be ideal. Then, I think you could make a full set of bandit armor. I'm thinking this order of special effects in the armor set: Head: NPC's instantly know you are involved with dangerous bandits. Specific people (Peasants) will give you their money (x amount) if you come too close. Body armor: The money that you loot from dead bodies is increased by (10%, 12%, 15%, 20%, 25% depending on level) Gauntlets: Damage dealt with (specific weapon) is increased by (5%, 8%, 12% 15%, 20% depending on level) Unarmed damage is increased slightly as well. Boots/Legs: No bandit is complete without some movement muffling! Wearer moves silently. When I put the (peasants) up there. I think that could be a good idea. Create an NPC or multiple NPC's named 'Peasant' and scatter them all around the game world. Out in the streets, in the cities, around lakes and rivers, and wherever else. Basically they'd be there to give you money if you come to close to them. Bandits need SOME people to fear them, right!? :) That's all my ideas. Hope you like em! trees415
Great idea for a mod, there could be a few missions where the player gets to plan an ambush against a group of nobles or something. Basically, you tell your fellow bandit-mates where they should hide, then you signal the ambush. I can't imagine that being too difficult to script...Anyways, that town looks sick, I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of this. Good luck.
