Alchemy mod features

I'm working on an alchemy overhaul mod that is basically an alternative to CACO, which changes too many things for my taste. My mod will do a number of similar things;

Adds a ton of new ingredients (more than CACO)

Adds a bunch of new alchemy effects

Adds new recipes

Learn effects when you read recipes

I would love to hear what other features people would be interested in. No promises that I'll include your suggestions, but I'm willing to listen. If I like your idea I might implement it either in my initial release (if I really like it or it's easy to do) or an update.

I know this is gonna sound a bit "meh", but hear me out:

You can only get one Jarrin Root in the game (during the quest to kill the emperor).

I want you to include a mini-quest to discover a secret hidden patch of land in one of the deserted areas (usually where you have giants or something) where you can grow the root!

My idea is that the root will spawn only after you use a special knife on yourself to "draw your blood" (active item) and then you apply it to the patch of dirt. This needs to be done every few days or else the root won't grow. The problem is: when you use the knife - you get a debuff (a "curse" - something not too major but still noticeable).

This might not be what you're looking for, but I and my friend are big alchemy fans so we would sure as hell want to see something like that!

I know there are lots of mods to get the root - buying, finding etc., but for the best alchemy ingredient for poisons - that is just LAME!

I know it's a lot to ask, but sure would be nice...

Good luck with the mod.

Cheers!

@DMan1629: That is an interesting suggestion. I think that would have to fall into the category of things I might add during an update. The first version probably won't include any quests.

Overall I have to admit that I'm more than a little disheartened that I haven't got more responses. I guess it's a good reality check that I shouldn't expect a big response to my mod. I'm just surprised that I haven't gotten any requests for certain alchemy effects, reagents, wanting a weightless reagent version, etc. I guess what most people want from mods these days is skimpy female armors and more weapons. Alas.

Don't be distraught mate, not a lot of people come here, and even less comment.

I tried to do the same with enchantment ideas and I got only 1 person to respond to it.

The ideas were good, but you just need to realize that that's the norm, unfortunately.

If I'll have more ideas I'll let you know.

Good luck!
