Splodem
Hi all, Iâm new to the forums and am hoping to get into modding myself eventually. I only have a PS4 right now (received as a gift, canât afford a pc as a homeowner on a tight budget), and the available mods are understandably limited on that platform. Iâve come across plenty of mods I think are cool, but seem just too overpowered. Iâd love for the game to remain a challenge. Here are some ideas I have for mods Iâm hoping can see the light of day on the PS4, either by my doing, or if someone on here wants to tackle these. 1.) increased number of wearable rings. Personally, Iâd like to see it go from 2 to 4. Anything more seems like overkill. 2.) ability to purchase a satchel/bag at certain bigger towns to increase carry weight. There are a couple of assets in-game already that would be perfect for this in regards to looks when buying the items. The currently available mod on PS4 that allows players to somewhat do this has bags that just look bright and very much out of place, and they also add additional effects to the wearer. That seems like too much. Maybe the ability to buy 1 bag when joining stormcloaks or empire (+15 carry weight), and the ability to buy 3-4 total satchels (+5 carry weight) at the bigger cities in the game, maybe once you become thane there. Only one each available per city obviously. This would be crucial for survival mode. 3.) A special satchel you can earn through the thieves guild that not only adds +5 to carry weight, but it also makes lockpicks weightless in survival mode. Just a cool perk to earn by going through thieves guild. 4.) the ability to craft weapons/armor with a lower carry weight. As you increase your crafting ability, each level put into that ability slightly drops the item weight in those items you create (to reflect your increasing ability). With a total attainable weight loss of something like 33-50%. This would only affect the items you craft though, not the items you find out in the world, and items youâve already crafted wouldnât see their weight drop further obviously. You would have to craft them again to see the weight drop. 5.) random roaming fur trader caravans that will sell/buy fur and animal products to/from you at a slightly marked up price (x1.5 price?). They donât carry a ton of money. Maybe as much as typical shop owner. 6.) same as above, but a merchant caravan that does the same in regards to jewelry/gems. He/she would look a little fancier and carry more money obviously. 7.) humans drop hearts/flesh. This would be very rare, something like a 7.5 % chance at flesh, and a 2.5% chance at a heart. Would just seem strange to go around carving people up otherwise, but would at least give you access to these materials over time. Maybe killing as a werewolf increases the chances x10, vampire x5. 8.) mammoth cheese increased benefits. Itâs rare enough, it should reward you a little more. Maybe double itâs healing effects, maybe even make it something you can cook to get even more benefit from it. Mammoth cottage cheese? Mammoth cheese soup? 9.) ordinator perks. Simply put, would love to see this make its way to the ps4. 10.) athletic skill tree. can swing weapons 5/10/15% faster, move 5/10/15% faster, can hold breath 10/20/30% longer, take 15/30/45% less falling damage, can jump slightly higher, increased carry weight, etc. 11.) increases to standing stones effects. The mods I see take them overboard and make characters gain massive bonuses. Iâm thinking more along the lines of making each effect something like 20-25% stronger than their normal version. Better than vanilla, but not completely OP. 12.) characters shut their eyes when they sleep and they blink. I know this seems strange, but for some reason the npcs in my game donât close their eyes. Having this as a Mod to add at the end of a load list would be nice. So what do you guys think? I try not to go overboard on my ideas, and would hope they keep things as immersive as possible while adding a new element to the game. Thanks for looking! WastelandAssassin
whatever you requests may be , this site is the wrong place to request thesethe Nexus is a site for PC mods only , you can't host PS4 or XBox mods herefor this , the correct place is Bethesda.netso whatever it is you want , you should go discuss in that site , where you can actually host such mods
Splodem
Oh, sorry about that. Well regardless, does any of this stuff seem like it would be a new idea as far as mods go? I truly do plan to give modding a try, and it would be nice to know if anything here would be seen as a different or unique concept. I’m guessing most of it isn’t after so many years of this game’s existence.
WastelandAssassin
well , I'm not really sure about the modding limitations of the PS4 versionbut I think some of these ideas require scripting , and I'm not sure how much scripting you can do on PS4 mods (you would have to ask someone who has made more complex PS4 mods to know for sure) I would say that 1,4,9,10 and 12 will probably require at least some scripting , and may require more than what the game has (meaning that they may require SKSE like functions , which you can only get on PC)the rest don't seem like too difficult to do (aside from maybe the weightless lockpicks in survival mode , this will probably also require scripting , and I'm not sure how possible this is on PS4) again , to truly get a proper answer you should discuss this with console mod makers , and Bethesda.net is the proper place to find themI don't know of anyone here that makes PS4 mods , so I can't direct you to anyone that may have a good answer here on the Nexusif these were PC mods , they would be very much possible (maybe 12 isn't , but I'm sure the rest are possible , if they haven't been made thus far) . but console modding is a different beast , and PS4 is the more limited of the two , so you really need to talk to the people with the specific know how to get a good answergood luck with it though , it's always nice to see someone trying to create new mods
