How to create a walk through wall...

Anyone know? Pretty much what the title says. I want to have a wall, that looks like a normal wall, but one that the player can simply walk through into a hidden room. No doors, no teleports, no levers, no activation. Just walk through it. I did a search for "walk through wall" and only found 1 relevant post but unfortunately no answer. I'm guessing either I'm able to ask questions about things that can't be done or it's really simple and I'm just a 'tard....:)

Thanks and feel free to smack the noob if needed!

My guess is, when you get into the CK and double-click on a static item (like an imperial wall, for example) you can see that there's one box that is ticked by the name of (COLLISION GEOMETRY). I am quite sure that if you untick it maybe the game doesnt recognize the geometry and the collision so it becomes a visible item without any collision, like an invisible wall. Tell me if it did the trick if you ought to try it! :)

If you could pull this off...a wall with no collision...and use it carefully, and together with small clues as to which walls lack collision...wow. May I humbly make one recommendation: Always use the same wall type in a given dungeon as your walk-thru type. And always provide some small, visual or audible clue. Something like a loud wind effect from the other side of the wall, would be cool.

This way the player learns to study the walls of a ruin, without having to stop and study every-single-wall just in case.

hope this works out for you, would love to see it in game.

Another thing you could do, of course:

Create an activator/non-static mesh. Have it vanish once the player gets real close, or activates it.

TheDarkPrince, I had forgotten about that one. I tried it,( and did duplicate it first :) ) but there doesn't seem to be any way to simply uncheck that option. If this is the one you were talking about. The other three options don't seem to have any effect either.

BlackCompany Pretty much what I had in mind. Except for the subtle clues! Very cool thought. Since it will be in my player house, I'm thinking a banner that's blowing in the wind a little more than the others....If I can get it to work :(

Thanks for the ideas so far guys!
