Leandro15
always after i have a few hours of playthrough i start getting this weird lag,, example i turn on night vision then to turn it off it takes almost 5 seconds or so, but it applies to most powers as well, and it happens on conversations too, and from this just goes worse and worse as i progress, iv had to start over once but now it happens again. .this gets really frustrating not being able to use a power/shout the right time you need it.. i dont know how much people have experienced this, but its however is a major gameplay killer :(
xlcr
confirm what your timescale is currently set to (default is '20.00') use console command:help timescale or show timescalenormally you should see default value '20.00' returned, anything less than 20.00 slows things down, anything more speeds things up. fyi, value of 1.00 makes time advance at the same rate as the real world; not recommended, known to cause script event errors like what you've described.you can change the game's timescale to the default value of 20.00 using console command:set timescale to 20.00(some people set this in the range of 8-15 because they like longer days..) also suggest you peek at your current active effects list (magic 'P' key, select effect/powers) and look for any stuck persistent effect that may exist.are you running any 'fancy' mods? trustinall
are you 100 percent positive that altered timescales cause problems with scripts? i have been using timescale five for forever, yet i've always kept away from script mods cause i heard they cause problems... lately i tried dynavision though and guess what, i ran into problems after a while. so yeah, are you positive changing the timescale is the cause and not some bug in the engine and or scriptmods? edit: without using scriptmods i never had any problems with my altered timescale (200+ hours of playing :P) Edited April 21, 2012 by trustinall
xlcr
hi trustinall, agreed, i've also set mine as low as 5 or more for longterm gameplay (i like longer realistic days); and, rarely/never experienced game breaking script/event issues - did notice a few quest event/update delays only.Never anything like Leandro15 described (lagging actions/effects/powers/dialog). Just trying to help with troubleshooting if possible, I suspect Leandro15 may have a rogue/stray scripted mod installed or mod/patch version mismatch.Probably best if heavily scripted mods are disabled/uninstalled one by one to recreate/solve the extreme lag issues. Leandro15, would be helpful if you could post a list of the mods you're running or your DLCList.txt?Do you have a powerful PC? What's the current average size of your gamesaves? RedRavyn
The delay that Leandro is experiencing doesn't sound like its related to the timescale. Timescale has no effect (or at least it shouldn't have any effect) on how rapidly the game engine processes scripts. What it sounds like is that there may be a "script overload" so that the game can't keep up with the number of simultaneously running scripts. I've seen that have similar effects in Oblivion with poorly-constructed mods. As far as timescale causing bugs, yes, a timescale of "1" has been well-documented to cause problems, some of them quite serious, with script timing in Oblivion. I ran with that timescale most of the time, but I knew what quests might be affected badly by that, and would reset the timescale to the default "30" when I had one of those quests active. I ran with a timescale of "1" in Skyrim for a short while and noticed a LOT of instances where actors would "stall out", only continuing what they were supposed to be doing if I either interacted with them or used the console to move them a short distance from where they were standing. This behavior drastically decreased when I upped the timescale to "2", but it still happens occasionally. Using a timescale of "10", I see almost none of this. I consider a timescale of "2" to be "safe" in that I've encountered no script faults that have broken anything when running with it. I think, though, that a timescale of "5" to "8" is likely to be much safer.
Leandro15
i have a medium pc, runs skyrim well without any noticeable framerate problems, and my savegames size is only around 5 mb T.Ti've been trying to deactivate mods in group to see if i could find the problem, i found out Dynavision caused some of the lag, but it still persistedAlso, i run some vampire character mods, and i think this started after i turn to vampire, theres big possibility i currently have some glitched Active Effects , i deactivated the mods but had no difference in the lag though.altering the timescale didnt had any effects well i assume i'll had to start all over again :S heres my dlc list.(not all of these mods are activated ) Jump350.espSprint2.espBlood (Bloodbath).esmMagicka Revamp - Destruction - Extra Spells - WIP.espTytanis.espRingsOfPower.espLisette Wife Companion.espnighteyetoggle.esptogglevampiresight.espUnlimited_Rings.espVPBV1.3.espOverlookTower v1.0 by SLuckyD.esmBlackSacramentArmor.espMagicka Sabers.espAdvanced Vampires No sun damage.espAdvanced Vampires sun damage.espAdvancedWerewolf.espBetter Aura Whisper & Detect Aura Spell.espBetterMage.espBound Weapons Upgrade.espConjure Skeleton.espCrafting300.espDestruction Mod.espDPArmor.espDualCasting,Cost,FinishingMove Boosts.esphideout.esmhideout.espIllusion Spell Tweaks.espIPutASpellOnYou.espKillable Children V2.2.esplongercandlelight.espLost Art of the Blacksmith.espMannequin.esmMidasSkyrim.espninjatos.espNo Helmets Required.espNo Perk Prereqs - No Helmets Required.espNo Perk Prereqs.espPhenderix's Magic Evolved.espposesivecorpses.espPowerfulShouts.espPrometheusCapes_armorsfix.espPurewaters.espQuadSouls Perks.espRamaTeleporterSystem_v1.espRingDragonWyrm2.espShadowStripingFix.espSmithing Perks Overhaul - Balanced.espVampire Sight.espWeapons and Armor Fixes - Hacks.espWeapons and Armor Fixes.espWiS IV - AI & Spells for NPC.espWiS IV - New Equipement for NPC.espWiS IV - Perks for NPC.espWiS IV - Races.espWiS IV - Realistic Combat.espWiS IV - Werewolf & Vampire.espanellento.espDeadlyDragons.esmDeadlyDragonsCraft.espDeadlyDragonsNormal.espJebediahCompanion.esplordamor.espMoreRainHeavyandDarker.espPolymorph.espSanc Castle.espSpiritrealmhouse.espVampireDaywalker.espWDalpha.espApachiiHair.esmApachiiHair.esparmor_eisen.espBetter Dynamic Snow.espblood coins 1r-2c.espblood coins 2hr-1c.espblood coins 5r-10c.espblood coins insane.espblood coins normal.espblood coins slow.espDaedricCrownCraftable.espdarksiders_chaoseater.espdarksiders_scythe.espdarksiders_uriel.espDeadlySpellImpacts.espDragonCrownCraftable.espDragonPlateCrownCraftable.espEbonyCrownCraftable.espElvenCrownCraftable.espFollowerWander.espFrostmourne 1.0.1.espGlacial_Stronghold.espGlassCrownCraftable.espInfernoStormShout.espLFArmors.espPupetteer Master.espSoS - The Dungeons.espVampire drain.espWiS IV - Dark Age.espPower of Dominance.espSoS - The Wilds.espVesper Sanctuary.espCloaks.espDeus Mons.esmDeus Mons.espfemale mannequins in homes.espfemale mannequins.espfollow.espGalcern Fortress.espHentaiVoidArmor.espKarliahArmor2.espMystic.espOmegared99-Compilation.espR18Pn - Leere Armor.espRCRN Pure - Hybrid Shaders.espSentinel's Peak.espSkyMoMod.esmSkyMoMod_lists.espSpousetocustomhome.espTales_of_Lycanthropy.espTrissArmorRetextured.espWARZONES - Civil Unrest.esmWiS IV - Armors & Blocks.espJSwords.esmMECR_NightEye_DetectLife_Overhaul.espnightshade_armor.espRealistic Lighting Patcher.espRealistic Lighting.espVampireInvisibleItemsFix.espWiS IV - Heroes & villains.espCampingKitNorthernRanger.espCrimson Tide - Blood.espDuel - Combat Realism.espDYNAVISION Dynamic Depth of Field.espDynavision.espHypothermia.espIMCN - Overrides.espImp's More Complex Needs.esmVampire Citidel.espVampireEffectProject.espHentaiSuccubusArmor.espThe Dance of Death.espWATER - Get Wet.espWATER.espAP Skyrim.esmAP Skyrim.espSkyMoMod Extras Conjuration.espdovahkiinrelax.espGreenWaterFix.espmoonpath.esmmoonpath_questdata.espAngelic_Demonic.espARTOFMAGIC.espBlackTowerArmory.esmBlackTowerUpdate.espdaedric_phelm.espdD - Enhanced Blood Main.espDeus Mons_WithNPCs.espFS_AngelsInSkyrim.espFurbag.espGizmodian Silver Swords.espGreenWaterFixForWATER.espMasters of Death.espMoria.espNeo's Oriental Dress.espNorthborn Fur Hoods.espOmegared99-Compilation-NPC Plugin.espOmegared99-WeaponSets.espPeople Have Torches.espRanger's Cape.espRemodeled Armor.espUFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.espzzALittleSexyApparelReplacer.espBetter Vampires.espdragoncurse_alpha_1.espJSwordsDistributionBalancePlugin.espKillable Children.espNatural Skyrim Rain.espNicoroshi Creations.esp
