  1. 1. Would you be for or against the next Elder Scroll game being an MMO?

Let's say we have to pick single player or MMO (one or the other) for the next game. Would you be for or against the next game being strictly online? Edited by PsxMeUP

If it's one or the other, then I will stick to single player. That's 1 reason why I DUMPED my Xbox 360 and went PC (tired of hearing the nonstop gripes). If others prefer MMO's, they can play whatever they please.

There are enough MMORPGs these days, but few good single-player RPGs. I have nothing against MMOs (I'm a fan of Guild Wars and eagerly awaiting GW2), but it is nice to have a single-player like Skyrim for a change of pace. If nothing else, your character is more center-stage in a single-player game than s/he could be in an MMO, and all the world-changing decisions are yours alone.

If it were a proper sandbox with balanced gameplay, some player owned territory and war going on.. I'm there.

And it would need to include some safe zones for the less PVP oriented among us - crafters, roleplayers, carebears whatever..

If the online game in played in small private server yes you can fully RP (but i truly dubt it) much probably that if the game go online we will play in gigantic servers transforming the TES game in another WOW game

I asked this question because ES games now look like MMOs. Skyrim has the same kind of loot scavenging and same kind of fetch/kill quests. With the added crafting components Bethesda is creeping ever-closer to making the next game an MMO. It almost looks like they have MMO envy. I wouldn't be a fan of it. If they would allow personal servers where people could make teams of 4-5 players, that would be cool. It would really increase immersion and role-playing. There aren't enough good single-player RPGs, but there are even fewer good Co-op based RPGs.

Psx summed it up nicely. Its the gradual slide toward "MMO-ness" that ruined - or at the very least - dumbed down, Skyrim.

If the MMO world is a Sandbox owned and run by players, a la Perpetuum/EVE, I would be for that, for the most part.

If its the theme park styled WoW-esque, fetch-quest-centric MMO...well, I never play those. Not even Tera, with its action combat, could hook me with those quests. The beta tried and I laughed it off as WoW/Rift with Vindictus combat, which it is, though its an insult to Vindictus to say so.

So, yeah...sandbox, player run and player managed, with dynamic events and a harsh world: All for it.

Theme park, wow-with-action MMO, fetch and kill quests...not so much.

And frankly, we all know which direction bugthesda is moving in.
