yellowpaint
HiI've been keen on making my own companion for a while, although we are clearly spoiled for choice if you checked the Companions file category recently, but without sounding like an ass none of them are particularly notable or to my liking. So i started on my own, but a couple of things are driving me nuts.Firstly, importing a .npc from a save game into an Actor in the CK seems to mess stuff up. The imported face is several shades darker, has no make-up or war paint and the Upper Eye Socket value seems to affect the forehead instead. I tried getting everything to look the way it was supposed to, but CK really isn't the best for editing faces because of that fishbowl effect in the preview window. The second problem is the discoloration bug, but a bit of googling seems to have that question answered. Obviously I'm not up to that stage yet though because I cant even import properly into CK. I just don't understand the problem. What could possibly alter the .npc file after being imported, or is the CK just bad at that sort of thing? this is what i'm trying to get her to look like this but in my testing she is just not, both in-game and CK. the discoloration bug is just magnified by the fact she is already dark grey after being imported into CK. I've put a bit of time into this and it just sucks to have nothing to show for it. thanks in advance for any help

chanelxfairy
@ Yellowpaint Wow! I thought i was the only one with this issue. I know people had an issue where the changes didn't show up ingame but they did in the CK. but in my case, everything is dandy until i try to change the lip color. I've tried everything from exporting to creating new color forms etc. I really thought I was the only one with this issue. Lip color does not show up in the ck or the game. jet4571
1. You can manually add lip color and makeup in the exported .dds file. Mine does the upper eye socket forehead color too and it takes a couple minutes to paint it in on the .dds, the lip color just seconds to select the lip and change the color. 2. For the skin tone, just adjust the slider to the correct setting to correct the import. 3. If its a vanilla facepaint then find and reapply it in the CK. all facepaints are already on the NPC its just they are colored the coloraverage preset and the interpolation value is 0. find the warpaint, change the color and bump the interpolation to make it visible. 0 is invisible, 1 is solid. If the warpaint is a mod then you need it loaded in the CK just like you would the hair and follow the same steps to apply it. *edit,Lip color doesn't show on the .dds, so find a vanilla NPC that uses the same lips and cut the lip color from it's .dds and paste onto yours then color it to what you want. That explains why they said to make the lips bright green to export, the CK doesn't export it. lol. Edited May 28, 2012 by jet4571
