Hyoukage
This is my final entry for this topic... It is rather evident nobody has an interest, from what I can see, in making a base crawler mod.As such, unless someone decides to do this later...This is a semi-official (somewhat) withdrawal of my mod request. If anyone decides to do this later, just drop a reply, or send me a conversation notice.
MjrMoose
I like the idea. i will have a look into it my self. But it will have to wait till im finished with my vehicular mod. what i will do is have a squiz at it later and i'll get back to you. Edit: This is what i found so far. You can use components out of the BSA files, mixed with some custom components.the best parts would be from the quarry junction file, more specificly the drag line components. I can honestly say i have never played the mod u speak of but i s this what u r looking for. http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/277/legocrawler.jpg Edited May 8, 2012 by MjrMoose
MjrMoose
Please disregard my last post. After looking on the net for a pic of said crawler, i went scavenging around the meshes for parts to see what i could come up with. I just happened to find a folder called crawler. So with NifSkope i had a lil lookie, and low and behold, there is your crawler. This is where i found it. Where ever you extracted the NIF's > Fallout Meshes > Meshes > dlc03 > Architecture > Crawler. In the crawler folder, there is 2 more folders. Interior is for inside. Exterior is outside. Personally i think it is too clean for FO-NV, but i might be able to dirty it up a bit. Hope this give you new faith in your idea.
Deleted2547005User
Uh. I must have missed that folder when I recompiled my BSA for RFCW. I apologize for my previous statement. If you would like some help, I will provide it, it's the least I can do to make up for my mistake.

Happy hunting
Deleted2547005User
That's because the Master File never had any static records pointing to those meshes. Extract the crawler folder into your data folder and create new static records that use those meshes. Then you can start building.

Deleted2547005User
MjrMoose 1.) Open FOMM.2.) Under the tools dropdown menu select BSA Browser.3.) Open the Fallout - Meshes.bsa in the New Vegas data folder.4.) Expand the folders in the bsa like so: meshes/architecture/crawler5.) In the right hand window select everything and click the extract button.6.) Select the New Vegas data folder as the target, then extract. DON'T select the meshes folder in the data folder.7.) In the GECK, use the object window and navigate to World Objects/Static8.) Right click and select new.9.) Hit the edit button, then the edit button in the window that appears and navigate to the newly extracted folder from the BSA and select one of the meshes.10.) Repeat the last two steps until you have all of the desired pieces.

This is just the main parts of the crawler. (no platforms, doors etc)I also believe that the textures for the tracks and suspention were not included. they appear black in game. http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/9705/crawlerinfonv.jpg
Deleted2547005User
That looks great. Good job. It's possible that the textures weren't included, so you'll have to either find a similar texture or create a new one for them.
