CaptainPatch
Hello to everyone still playing FO4. (Thank goodness for FREE mods!) As is likely, I have a LARGE number of mods integrated into my game. One or more of them seems to have glitched my Nuka-World seriously. At the end of the Gauntlet, when entering Cola Cars Arena, the graphics go crazy and there are colored "walls" EVERYWHERE blocking the scenery, making it nearly impossible to navigate to the security door with the intercom. I circumvented those by using the disable console command repeatedly. HOWEVER, once I arrive at the intercom, Porter Gage NEVER comes on the line to then unlock that door. Dead end. So I went back to an earlier Save from just before entering the Gauntlet. I learned of a very little known workaround to sidestep the Gauntlet entirely. (Just before entering the first kill zone,at the bottom of the stairs, there is a chained Exit side door. You can barely see the chains through a crack between door and door frame. If you hunt around enough, you can find ONE PIXEL where you can Activate the Chain, thus unlocking that door.) The trouble is, even though I have escaped into Nuka-World, the game thinks I'm still in the Gauntlet (the radio keeps playing Red Eye's, "Pick up the pace!") and as such, I "cannot fast travel from this location". Neither has the Commonwealth map icon appeared. So there I am in NW, having killed all the raiders and started the Red Rocket settlement. But I CAN'T GO BACK TO THE COMMONWEALTH....... So, does anyone have a solution for creating the Commonwealth map icon?
WastelandAssassin
I remember there being a mod that fixes the giant bottle models in Nuka World , which might fix your issue (I don't know what could prevent the quest from working)I would suggest searching for and installing this mod , to see if it fixes the issue . you should go back to a save prior to entering the rooms with these issues , and see if the quest progresses normally there if you are at a point you are done with Nuka World , and you don't intend on trying to fix the issues and play the DLC , just use a console command to go back to the commonwealth (I think it's still COC X , where X is the name of the cell you are going to . check the Wikia for a cell name , and to make sure COC is the correct console command)
yakalrad
The mod that WastelandAssassin is referring to is called Nuka-World Bottle Scenery Fix by Eldocar. Link here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17853 The models for the NW bottles are somehow bugged and after installing certain types of mods, they will appear massively oversized. The oversized bottles have no collision though as you can walk right thru them, they just completely block your view, especially inside the Cola Cars Arena. I have had to use the Bottle Fix mod on Xbox in the past after I installed the NW addon to a scrapping mod I was using, which in turn caused this glitch. The Bottle Fix mod will certainly correct the problem of the oversized bottles, however, since it merely replaces the bottle models, I don’t think it will remedy your issues with completing the quests and traveling back to the CW. When I had this glitch, my quests nor ability to travel seemed to be affected. It is worth a shot trying it though I suppose, but my guess is that besides the bottle glitch, you have something else going on.
CaptainPatch
Thanks for the Bug Fix mod name. Installed and fixed the graphics all right. HOWEVER, that just brought me to what is actually the REAL bug. I get inside the locker room and can gather up all of the available weapons and junk lying around. Porter Gage even comes on the intercom and tells me that "I'm the guy that can get you through this" speech. Unfortunately, that's the end of the intercom interaction; the dialogue ends there. I _think_ it has to do with the Start Me Up (Alternate Start) mod. (I did NOT start out as the Sole Survivor from Vault 111.) That may have an adverse effect on the dialogue with Gage. At any rate, no further dialogue = no buzzing the next two Security doors open = no game continuation. I can use a console command to disable the Security door graphics to move into the Cola Car Arena, and RedEye even goes into his "And they're off" spiel. However, Coulter just stands there and I can squirt him all day long while my Companion peppers him with shotgun blasts, but Coulter takes ZERO damage. No damage to Coulter = no game continuation, so I still no further gamewise than I was before the graphics glitch was remedied. Any suggestions to get past the Cola Cars battle? WastelandAssassin
I don't quite think it's due to Start Me Up (at least , I couldn't find any issue like this mentioned on the mod's page , though I haven't gone through the comment section)I would suggest that you post your load order , that would help us try to help you solve the issue
