DickyBuilder
Hi all Been having a problem after levelling, that the game crashes on start up. Encountered this on my first run though the game at lvl 58, had just about finished the game and was adding various popular mods . After levelling to 59 if i reloaded the game it would crash. If i reloaded a game save before levelling the game would work. This without disabling any mods. So I reinstalled skyrim and started a new game with the same mods enabled and the game played fine. I refused to level up and played for a couple of hours making a few clean saves. I finally levelled up game played ok, closed the game down, then restarted click continue and the game crashed to desktop as before at lvl 58. Has anyone experienced this before ? Any advice to fix this greatly appreciated. I use the mod manager and have the latest updates for skyrim and SKSE RegardsDicky
shmimbadad
Find your save files in your skyrim folder in "my documents" and check their sizes. Been loads of issues with all sorts of symptoms, including CTDs, caused by a bug making bloated save files. The way I understand it, it seems that save files any bigger than like 5-8 mb max, are probably corrupted, and cause issues like that. I had to start a new character recently because my main guy's save file bloated up to 122mb.
Sheoul
Damn... same problem here... not only when leveling up but soon after killing a dragon as well... first time this happened to me I was in the beggining of Alduin's Wall. When I arricev to Riverwwod with Esbern a dragon was flying around so I killed the pest... when I left the Sleeping Giant Inn with Delphine and Esbern as soon as I got out the game would crash, so I restarted on a previous savegame and went thru other quests with my friend Esbern for company with no problems of CTDs so I decided to start Alduin's Wall Again, went back to Riverwood, no dragon this time, no CTD leaving Slepping Giant, or fast travelling to the nearest place to the questmarker but when I came out of the fast travel guess what??? Dragon again so... Save game and kill it... CTD again, and each time I reload the beggining of the fight. Everything goes smooth until the damn bug dies, I do belive it somehow odly related... can anyone help us???Last mods I installed were:Superl3 ENB 70RLWCtorches for RLlanterns of skyrim (both)light up the nightCity Relighting with Day-Night Light Schedule w-Water Arrows. I don't think it's mod related since uninstalling everithing did nothing but can you guys tell me if the quest, dragon kill or the mods relate to your problem? we need help! Sheoul
Sorry for posting again but I just tried it and in my case it's definitely dragon related ;) everything is fine and works perfect but as soon as the dragon hits the floor the game starts CTDing. Happened in Riverwood and now it's happening again near the quest marker for alduin's wall. I guess it can be related to: The number of dragons killedThe amount of dragon bones and other bodies scattered all over SkyrimThe number of dragon souls absorbed (Shouts+stored)

Grecia300
I have the same problem, but I don't have AP. And I didn't install any animation mods in the past few days. I have a couple of hundred dragon souls, all shouts unlocked, and have a total of about 179 mods (plugin's + non-plugin's). I also have been installing and uninstalling mods almost every other day for the past month or so. The save is 18,685 kb large (both .skse and .ess) Anybody able to help? VanKrill
Back up your save game files. Download Save Game Cleaner. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/? Use its tools to "Clean" your save game, save as new file, and try it.
Grecia300
I already have Skyrim Save Game Cleaner. I actually thought for awhile that the Save Game Cleaner was the *cause* of my problems. Anyway, since my last post, I have completely wiped my Skyrim directory and deleted all of my saves. And my problem seemed to have stopped. So, that said, I will post again if the problem reappears. Cheers.
