Doctor Black
I just recently created a new mesh by combining the Robco Jumpsuit with the Vaultsuit. Now, it works in NIFSkope and it works in the GECK, but for some reason, whenever I actually equip it in-game it causes the game to crash. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Here it is in NIFSkope: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43/Wafflelord/InNIFSkope.png And here it is in the GECK: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43/Wafflelord/InGECK.png Edited April 22, 2012 by Doctor Black
GrindedStone
That's because we don't use Nifscope to do things like that. You can get it to work how you have done it. It isn't the correct way, an such is a hacked mesh. You can do many things with hacked meshes an it's even fun. However the time you wasted doing that could have been spent learning how to use an actual 3D editor such as blender or 3D studio max which takes a long time. I started getting good around 350 hours then started getting faster at 700 hours. I'm at over 1200 hours now I can do things fast, but I still know very little if anything. Also the path to get here injured my arm from poor posture an ergonomics. I've since learned how to sit an work better, but I'm not creating anything or playing any games for a while to recover. (which isn't fun)
Doctor Black
I did use Blender. That's how I was able to combine the legs of the robco jumpsuit with the vault 101 jumpsuit.
GrindedStone
Did you use a vanilla mesh to copy the bone weight from to quickly rig your mash up?It's got two scene roots, go to the second one down an right click, crop to branch. Doctor Black
Thank you so much! I figured it was the two scene roots thing but wasn't sure how to combine them.
GrindedStone
Do you understand how layers work in blender?

GrindedStone
Near the middle of the toolbar is a bunch of little boxes. If there is something in that layer then the box will have a dot. You can left click a layer to switch to that one, then shift left click to select more than one layer. It's helpful once you figure it out.
