Sarissi
I finally got to the optometrist to get examined for new glasses, which were paid for by the family trust Last year! The downside, is that I am now looking at Cataract Surgery. My eyes are past the point of qualifying. Other medical problems kept me from getting there before now.. My glasses are in and I pick them up Monday. My Oncologist wants me to have a PET scan done at their clinic regard a tissue mass. Well, that is the medical side of the news. This month I finally got a carry case for my 18.4 inch notebook computer. I also bought two more games on Steam: Oblivion GOTY Deluxe Edition and Morrowind. That brings the total of games on Steam to 5. Next month I get Skyrim. Until I found out that I can tell the steam client to go offline, and it will stay offline, until I tell it to go online, I was extremely reluctant to use Steam. Offline mode is extremely important to me. And that's the new from my end, folks!

Sarissi
I may have to call the oncologist to have it scheduled. Thing is, is that the tissue mass is at the Cancer Surgery Site (Aggressive Anal Cancer, Stage 2). So they want to be certain whether it is scar tissue from the surgery, or, a new tumor (flare up). The surgeon did not get all of the cancer cells out. So a flare up is always a possibility. I got my new glasses this morning. My vision with glasses is 20/70 and 20/200 or worse without. Hopefully, the Cataract Surgery will correct it to 20/30 without glasses. My appointment for Cataract evaluation is June 22nd, Unfortunately ther are 2 complications/ One minor, a very weak bladder muscle (Foleys from previous hospitalizations). The major one is that my Heart Output Function is at 17 percent, which places me in a high risk category.
Syco21
Eye surgery scares the living hell out of me. Back in '95 or '96 I suffered a serious eye injury that left me blind in one eye for close to six months. I was more or less grounded to my room for months while it healed. I came very close to losing my eye/vision and it was a miracle/pure luck/whatever that I didn't have to have surgery. But I still have scar tissue in the eye which places me at high risk for glaucoma and there is always a chance that I will still have to have surgery. If it ever comes to that, I'll be very thankful that it would two decades or more after the injury since optometry has advanced quite a bit since then. Nevertheless the idea still frightens me. Good luck with your surgery(ies?).

Sarissi
My father was an optometrist and probably the best in town. The options are to let the cataracts go untreated and go totally blind, or, Surgery. I just checked the reserve in my checking account and I have more than enough to get Skyrim this month! For me, I keep a reserve aka hidden balance, that is not listed in my register and keeps getting added to each month, since I don't list my entire Social Security amount. My register is my working balance for each month and no more than that.
