dgame14
as for me, i tried everything to reduce stuttering but nothing solved it.. until i experiment with the skyrimpref.ini file.. edited something like "fade distance" label and change the values to a higher value.. from 2000 max to 20000 max.. the game became smoothed for me while on town and freeroaming.. just try that if nothing else work.. just a warning, it will eat your ram up to store more textures.. but i think its much better than letting the game reload the textures again and again that make the game stutter a lot i think.. this works for me.. I have an AMD Phenom Quad core Black Ed. 3.2 GHz. 8GB ram and an Nvidia GTX 460 with 2GB RAM. I still experience horrible stutter and microstutter, even indoors, on high. Now, I did not have this issue early in the game's history. Only after the 1.4 patch, did this begin. I strongly suspect the game no longer uses 4GB RAM. I recommend Game Booster. Its a free app available from download.com. Or jut google on Game Booster. When you run it, Game Booster stops unneeded Windows Services, defrags RAM and halts some running processes not needed during gaming. It will not affect Steam or your game. Running Game Booster has done away with all stutter for me on high, and I can play on Ultra now in most areas.
