nickolas711
well, its well known that bethesda patched skyrim to use 4gb's now, however, as the title might imply, its not doing so for me, sure enough everytime skyrim takes up about 1.8gb's in memory, it freezes. doesn't even crash, so I have to ctrl-alt-delete it away. Any suggestions? the 4gb mod also didn't help WHY MUST I ALWAYS TROUBLESHOOT ALWAYS
fms1
The 4gb isn't all in ram, it's "virtual" meaning ram + page file + maybe kernel. Here's a link for something useful. Elys MemInfo
ProjectVRD
Aye, noticed this happening since the new Beta. It is really annoying, and some say Bethesda don't need to release a 64-bit executable?
fms1
Some have said they have removed the LAA flag from recent patches, Idk if this is true though, that doesn't sound right at all...

Some 'think' they have removed the LAA flag, because the game crashes when trying access more than 2GB system RAM. They haven't said it has defo been removed, they just suspect it might have been. They are talking about the 1.5.26 Beta that is currently available.
memlapse
I haven't tried to flag the current .exe, but I did notice that I pooped the bed twice when I hit over 2GB. Now I'm currently fighting with what I think are driver issues with my new rig (dual Radeon 7970s), so I'm not yelling foul, yet. I do find it interesting that the two times I was looking at RAM and PF usage, once RAM hit 2.1....seeya.
Cataxu
I've seen my TESV.exe reach 2,450,000+ in task manager as of late. What are your specs? Could you post your load order?

fms1
The latest patch 1.5.26 does use 4gb, unless yours is bugged somehow. It has been tested on this ver. with MemInfo that I linked above.
nickolas711
HUH.....I'm stumped I used the memory tester like you suggested fms1, and as it turns out, my skyrim doesn't go anywhere NEAR 4gbs, instead its just chilln at like 1.7 Although this is true, I still can't ignore the fact that my skyrim freezes everytime the task manager says its process is near 2gbs could this be a safety feature implemented somewhere in windows to stop programs from exhausting to much memory? could it be hardware related? any help?
