kingtitan
Hello everyone! So to start off, I got Skyrim off Ebay about a week ago. It has been delivered but unfortunately my P.O. box won't be open until tomorrow. So, in the meantime, I wanted to get a couple things figured out that I can't seem to find via google. It really just boils down to a few questions about body mods: First off, is it possible to use different body models/textures for each race? For instance I like my orcs a bit more bulked up than say, wood elves, and my beast races to be less "blessed" whereas a nord should be more so. Basically I want to introduce some variety into the game. Of course I have seen Caliente's work/ body sliders (which is a huge step up from Oblivion) and would love to be able to implement different body styles of CBBE for different races. Secondly, in that same breath, is it possible to apply different normal maps to different races? Basically what it boils down to is to what extent can the player uniquely customize races? EDIT: I think that I was rather non specific with this post. I have decided to simply stay with CBBE, but I would like to give different races different body models to use. For instance, I would like to give argonian and khajiit females a smaller breast preset while giving the other races normal body sizes. My question now is how to get each race to use a specific (same mod) body model? Edited April 26, 2012 by kingtitan
torrey80
1. First off, is it possible to use different body models/textures for each race? 2. My question is more along the lines of being able to use UNP and CBBE simultaneously or even different male body mods at the same time? 3. Secondly, in that same breath, is it possible to apply different normal maps to different races? 1. Yes, takes a little work to setup but works. Object window - Items - Armor section open "SkinNaked" lower right Models section double click "NakedTorso" These (2) windows will show you how it's currently setup, you'll have to create new ones example. "SkinNakedOrc" and "NakedOrcTorso"(Additional races section- selects which races use it) map them to your custom nifs and texture, the skin is setup under Object Window - MISC - Textureset - "SkinBodyFemale_1" maps the texture, normal map, etc... again make a custom one "SkinBodyOrc_1"-then goto the race window select the new "skin" to apply to that race. Don't modify the existing settings(besides the Race window selecting the new skin), make custom entries so if anything goes sideways you can reset to the original and start again. 2. If you stick to (1) body mod type CBBE or UNP the textures should work across multiple changes, but mixing those (2) will take a lot more to manage or you'll end up with distorted textures on the wrong body type when you start adding custom armors and clothing. 3. kingtitan
Your instructions are a bit confusing; although I am familiar with modding in general, I am just now learning how to navigate the CK (it is still quite a bit different from Oblivion's Construction set). Is there anyone that might be able to give me a bit more detailed instructions or provide a link for giving each race a different body model? For instance, there is no "SkinNaked" in the armor section, plus without good punctuation from the previous poster, it is much more difficult to follow the instructions. What I want to do now (as I appended the original post to say) is to make each race use a specific body model/texture. For females I plan on using only CBBE, but different variants of the body. Plus, I would like, for instance, Nords to use a different texture than say, Orcs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! angelmeats
This is a good one to start with.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5968 From there, just follow the directions for where to place the meshes and textures. If you'd like your males to also use unique meshes and textures (rather than only the ladies), i highly recommend using the version of Unique Bodies from here: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=6667
