mistes8
My game has been having CTDs that were not present before, likely due to some mods I've installed. I believe I've gotten to the point where I have absolutely too many mods to keep track of, and so I have really no idea of what is causing it. (Yes I used NMM for most of them but even after removing all files with it I either crash on startup or the CTDs still occur) Is there any way to completely flush out all mods, all .ini's, everything, so that I have the complete vanilla skyrim again? a7x5631
Uninstall and delete the entire game folder, then reinstall it.
mistes8
Doesn't steam save all the content though? Or what if mods replaced vanilla stuff, would that affect anything? And just to be clear I'm to delete steamapps/common/skyrim?

And just to be clear I'm to delete steamapps/common/skyrim? Steam only saves saved games to the cloud, so you should start a new game whenever you reinstall. If you're subscribed to mods through the Workshop, then you should unsubscribe everything. If you delete everything, with a fresh install it will be back to the vanilla version. And yes, after you uninstalled the game through Steam first. Also delete the Documents\My games\Skyrim folder, because it contains the ini's. Vooloc
save your charater in some small room somewhere, exit game.copy your latest save file, or all of them if you want. from my documents/my games etc.uninstall the game, delete the entire game folder from your computer and start again and copy your save game back.i did this a week ago and my game runs sweet as again.fixed broken quests too.
