BlackCompany
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with Game Booster. But its free, and it helped me, so I thought it might help others too. Ok, specs, to get this out of the way: -AMD Phenom Quad Core Black Ed @ 3.2GHz-8GB Corsair RAM-Nvidia GTX 460 with 2GB RAM When Skyrim first came out, I ran it on Ultra. No problem. Maybe a little stutter here and there. Then I went to the 4GB enabler (mod) and it ran like a Dream. Then the 1.4 patch hit. They CLAIMED it used 4GB RAM. Haven't seen proof, and it certainly does not use it on my system. So, another lie from Bethesda. Now, I have to use Game Booster to rid myself of stutter on High. Yes, high. Without even using the high res pack, at that. Game Booster is free, and stops numerous windows services from running while you game. Windows Update, Print Spooler, etc. It also defrags RAM itself before you play. Eliminates stutter for me. Which tells me two things: -Graphics/textures are NOT the problem-This game is poorly optimized at best (which we knew already, didn't we?) I recommend game booster for anyone. Helps with Skyrim. Helps dramatically with Witcher 2. Its free. Its safe. Doesn't mess with Steam, and when you are done using it, it turns everything it stopped back on. Northernx
When you installed the last patch, did you remove the 4gig ram enabler mod and its components? What about patch 1.5? Bug Fixes General crash fixes and memory optimizations.
