Tales of Faerun

Weyland stared intently at Theia as Dri approached, ready to draw his blade and lop the Unitaur's arms off if she tried anything. Thankfully, however, nothing came of it. Sybille, upon seeing what Theia's attitude was like, couldn't help but think Oh gods, she's like me at twelve years old. She made her introductions with a genuine smile anyway, glad to have another friend (hopefully) on the road.

Sybille shivered with delight upon laying eyes on the gorgeous tributary. She immediately dismounted and laid down her pack, as did Weyland, the Ordains, and Amendale. Without even waiting to set up her tent, Sybille stripped down to her undergarments and jumped into the water with a squee of joy. Weyland and Annette glanced at one-another, amused, before Annette went off to organize her alchemical gear. Weyland sat down on a stump and lumped all his gear beside him, unstrapping his sword belt and taking off his shirt. He took his boots off and was about to remove his socks when he suddenly stopped, remembering the very red and very obvious scars stretching from his toes all the way up to his knees. Nobody had ever noticed them before, save Amendale, and Weyland had always felt uncomfortable about them. Thankfully, Nawen's awkward bumbling distracted him for a moment.

"Nawen! A little shy, there?!?!" He jeered playfully, before Sybille sent a jet of water his way.

"Like you don't go red in the cheeks around the right...somebody." She teased.

Tannin arched a brow at Nawen’s odd behavior. This was the first time he had ever seen her so flustered. He could help but laugh a little at it, she always seemed to be in complete control over herself so seeing her like this was a bit of a shock.

Figuring it was best to leave her alone for the moment as well as feeling the need to clean himself what with the lack of a proper wash in more days than he would like to count. Despite his hesitance to show more of his history than he cared too, the need for cleanliness beat out his want of secrecy. So he walked down to the water's edge and pulled off his clothes till he was clad only in a pair of undershorts. Scar covered body all on display. The strips left by a whip on his back, the cuts, nicks, and stabs from blades, spears, and arrows. The large burns from his ankles and down as well as other splotches on his body, the diagonal slices under the knee of his left leg. Far too many wounds for someone who claimed to be a simple Bard. He would often cast Disguise Self to hide them from anyone he didn't want to see them, but figuring that everyone here knew that he was more than he ever claimed to be he felt comfortable revealing them.

Not that he stayed out in plain view for long however, as soon as he had undressed he dived straight into the cool water.

Azuris helped Dagny off of Bob and then helped in the setting up of tents. However suddenly stopped when Tannin called out to him. "Don't worry about tents Azuris, I have something for us. We'll be sleeping in style tonight, don't you worry." Tannin said with a grin as his head came up out of the water. "Figure it's such a nice spot we could use a little bit of a vacation here. Amendale, I've got a spell I want to show you later. Think the group will really appreciate it."

Nawen, after her sudden and unexplainable awkward moment stayed further away from the group and looked after the horses. She heard Weyland's comment but before she could reply to it, his sister Sybille came up with a much better comeback than she could have, so she focused her attention back on the horses.

She looked back at the group when she heard the sound of water splashing. It was then she noticed how scarred Tannin was. She looked at him for a very brief moment, her eyes wide in horror before looking away, in case anyone got any more ideas about it. She could not believe how one person could have so many scars. During her time with Ilmater priests she had seen a lot of injured people with all kind of wounds, but nothing like this. Nawen forgot her previous embarrassing moment as she now felt sorry for Tannin and wished that she could help him in some way about it.

Shalena chuckled at Nawen's strange behavior, and once the drow walked off, the piratess stripped until she was wearing only her undergarments, climbed into a tree closest to the lake and dived into the water.

Rhaine was too engrossed in caring for Azrael to notice much of the goings on around the campsite, though she did take note of Nawen's unusual clumsiness. After she had removed the stallion's heavy armor, she realized that he must have been given a wash back in Iljak, judging from the condition of his coat, but his hooves were still caked with grime from the road. The Doomguide then set to work with a pick and began removing the mud and pebbles from his shoes, humming a light tune as she did so. She was fortunate that, unlike her previous horse, Azrael was a calm and quiet steed; he practically dozed off as she cleaned his feet and then began braiding his short mane into small plaits, twisting them into neat knots atop his arched neck. Afterwards, she brushed him down from head to hocks until his ebon coat glistened in the fading light of day.

Zorica, seeing some of the group members heading straight for the lake, grinned and followed suit, quickly stripping down to her underclothes and wading into the water for a swim. The cool water was a bit of a shock after spending all day slightly uncomfortably warm, and she shivered for a few moments before acclimating. Sighing contentedly, the half-drow dipped all the way underwater and then resurfaced, tossing her raven hair back from her face.

Conall, after securing his grey stallion to one of the nearby trees, removed his armor and left only his undergarments on, following the others into the lake. His sharp blue eyes noticed both Weyland and Tannin's plethora of scars, and he glanced down at his own bare chest. The werewolf was not without his share of scars as well - many of them claw marks from his battles with other werebeasts. Something then zoomed past him at lightning speed, and he realized it was Aodh, the psuedodragon letting out an excited "Weeeeehaaaaaa!" before diving headfirst into the water with a plunk!

Dagny remained on the banks, sitting and massaging her sore legs as they stuck out straight in front of her. Not knowing how to swim, the dwarf woman was more than happy to remain on dry land. Meanwhile, Argyros had disappeared completely, much as he had back in Westgate. Dagny contemplated saying something about it, but then decided to keep her peace, certain that the elf's business was his own. On the far side of the campsite, Theia continued to keep her distance, finding the party's behavior amusing, to say the least. Her faerie dragon remained faithfully close, although the familiar did seem to be watching Aodh with mild interest, her gem-like eyes blinking slowly as she examined the psuedodragon from afar.

At last, Rhaine finished her work with Azrael by giving him a few sugar cubes. Then, unable to put off a bath any longer, she rummaged through the supplies she had bought and found the bars of soap that she had restocked. They were small, but they would do the trick, and they smelled faintly of rose and lavender oils. The Doomguide preferred to bathe in private, but she realized that privacy really wasn't an option here, so she took in her breath sharply and undressed down to her undergarments anyway. As she slid into the lake to join her companions, she tossed a bar of soap to each of them.

"Catch!" she grinned and winked, "And for the gods' sakes, make use of them!"

Upon reaching the tributary, Xundus immediately made his way back into the woods, trying to find a comfortable, hidden place to rest. He wasn't exactly one for bodies of water, and besides, he didn't like the idea of being out in the open.

After a few minutes of searching, the drow found a soft bed of grass, low enough in the ground to be sheltered from the wind, and covered on two sides by a large rock and a bush. He set his belongings down inside the leaves, then made his way back to where the others were. Arriving just in time to hear Tannin say something about "sleeping in style," he began to miss the luxuries of Ched Nasad. Sure, in the drow city you had to worry about being stabbed in the back, or randomly bursting into flames, but it was much more comfortable than sleeping on the ground.

Xundus let out a long, drawn-out sigh. He had only been with the group a short while, but it felt like he had been awake for years.

Tannin was greatly enjoying the water and the effect it was having on the women of the group, he happily watched as most of them stripped down to their undergarments and jumped in the water. "And to think I often wonder why I'm still traveling with you lot." He said with a chuckle.

Catching the soap he gladly began to wash himself of the muck and grime that his body had amassed over the past few days. "Thaat does it, We're building ourselves a bathtub and will shove it into a bag of holding so we can pull it out for everyone to use later."

"Sounds good." Az said as he got into the pond and started washing himself. "I'm decent at building stuff I guess. A tub shouldn't be that hard."

Lucas meanwhile was trying his hardest to keep from looking over at Rhaine, the sight of her undressing nearly made him let out a small gasp before he ducked his head underwater to try and save himself from the embarrassment. When he came up for air he turned his back away from her and leaned up against the steep bank of the pond. Feeling rather foolish at the moment, but his personal feelings were quickly pushed away when something zoomed over his head and landed in the middle of the pond with a loud "WEEEEEEEEEEEE" and a small splash. This sudden noise sent Lucas scrambling out of the water before looking back at the pond with a frightened expression. "THE HELLS WAS THAT!?!" He yelled out in fright.

"That was a naked midget with an overabundance of energy." Azuris said in a dry voice moments before Hexol's head popped out of the water with a laugh. "This water's great! Nice to get a chance to be clean again, the prison had a tub but it was kinda icky. I remember this one ti-" He was suddenly silenced when Tannin came over and suddenly dunked the Kender's head under the water. The gurgling sounds and bubbles floating to the surface showing that the Kender had not stopped talking.

After a few seconds of that Tannin pulled Hexol back up to the surface and was surprised that he was still chattering. "So then uncle Stitchy took the rock and wiped his bum with it and threw it at the guard, it was really gross cause he hadn't washed in a while and-" And once again he was forced under the water by a laughing Tannin.

"He just doesn't stop does he?" He asked with a smile before pulling Hex back up.

"So then Ma just got really angry and set the house on fire, but I think that was just an excuse for her bad cooking and then-"

"I wonder how long he'll go?" Tannin said pushing him back under again before he started to pull and push Hexol's head up and down into the water.

"He came up with a... She took the hammer and... then four of em... with a ladder..... pickles... no hands!.... Finger up his nose..... With fishsticks and....he put them up his..... then the dogs started to.... Baby threw up.... and it took five of us to pull it out of him!" Hexol said, finishing his story as Tannin stopped dunking his head under the water due to laughing too much. "And that's why I don't wear underpants a lot."

"Wait what?" Tannin asked, his laughter suddenly stopping.

Hexol reared his head back and let out a loud groan. "Weren't you listening? It's cause Gizzy gets into my pack and runs off with them causing AAAALLL sorts of trouble." He said irritably, when suddenly a loud high pitched cry for someone named Todd came from Hexol's pack.

"YES YOU!!" Hexol yelled, pointing at the cat's head that was sticking out of it, looking around it's new surroundings.

Daud had split off from the others nearly 30 meters before arriving at the campsite, for his horse had collapsed.

He noted that Faerun seemed... Different, like something had changed. When he looked around, everything seemed so rotted to the core... Or did he just see it that way because he was the one that was rotted? He shook his head slightly, and watched as his horse lying weakly on the floor, neighing weakly. He finally figured that it had been diseased the past few days, and all he had done is push it harder... "Lame old beast..." He commented, and drew his sword from its sheath, and watched the reflection in its eyes... The horses eyes filled with fear, and it neighed loudly, but it failed to stand "Shh... It will be quick." He placed a hand on the horse, holding it against the ground. It weakly thrashed to escape his grasp, but he managed to hold it firm, and plunged the blade through its neck, the blood splattering all over him... He whispered quietly as the horse died. Poor beast... His fault too, he should have been more attentive.

He returned to the others, and knelt over the water cupping some in his hands and using it to clear the blood and dirt from his face. He glanced to the others, who appeared to be bathing... Together. He frowned slightly, he did find that slightly odd, its not as if they couldn't gave taken turns with it. He gave a weak grin as he watched them... Well, that one was certainly energetic. Daud just watched from the bank in silence.

Tenebris eyed the water before him, mild amusement flashing across his face as he guessed at the thoughts of bathing everyone was likely having. Only been a day or so for me. Sure, it was ocean water, salt-rimed my clothes, and filled my lungs, but that still counts, doesn't it?

Putting his pack down neatly as nearly everyone else seemed to randomly drop theirs, the half-vampire watched the others simply stripped and dived in. "No propriety, this lot," he muttered under his breathe. He moved a little off away from the others and chanted a spell. There was a rumbling sound from underwater, then three walls and another with an open doorframe rose up, forming a comfortably-sized room. Wading into his creation, he muttered another spell, and this time shaped a partially submerged bench and a spot hang his wet clothes.

Looking around for a moment, Tenebris gave a satisfied nod, and proceeded to enjoy his new (and private) bathing house, making sure to take a bar of soap with him.

Dri smiled as the party stopped by the lake shore, relishing the thought of bathing. Although, she thought, a slight blush coming to her cheeks as she saw the others (and Weyland) stripping down to their undergarments and diving into the water. I don't know if I feel comfortable about bathing with everyone else. Sybille's teasing comment made her face burn even more.

When she saw even Rhaine bathing in the water, however, thoughts of quiet modesty disappeared. Joining in, the girl undressed to her underclothes and dived in quietly behind Weyland. Waiting until she was right behind the warrior, she splashed as much water as possible over her friend, a silent giggle painting her face.

Tak'we, however, was not enjoying the water nearly as much, standing a good ten feet away from the lake's edge. In a state more flabbergasted than anything else, the thri-kreen stood open-mouthed at the sight before him. "Do they not have any respect for the spirits' gifts?" he chittered in thri-kreen, feeling somewhat shocked that his clutchmates were bathing in the very water they would using for their supplies later. Why are softskins so wasteful? Not to mention the very fact that it was water, of all things, unable to understand the softskin mindset to be soaking wet all over and even go under the water.

Giving a low cree, the mantis warrior shifted nervously near Rhaine, moving a little closer to the lake. "Winged pointy-ear? Why do softsskinss like being in water sso much? You get all wet, and water gets in everything," he said, placing emphasis on 'everything.' "How do you stand that? Just..." *TCKTCK!* "Tak'we doess not understand softskinss."

Shalena caught the bar of soap, but before starting washing herself she shot a glance at her crewmen. Some were unpacking things and gathering wood for the fire, while more lecherous ones eyed the women in the water. The captain shook her head before throwing a bar of soap at one of the pirates who was ogling the female members of the group.

"Do make use of that soap, boys." She shouted at them as she got another bar of soap. Some of her crewmen whined and groaned, a few even cussed. "Now, now! Clean yourselves or I'll release your horses into the wilds." Shalena laughed.

Nawen noticed how some seemed surprised or even shocked how most of their group were taking a bath together in the lake, but Nawen wasn't. Still, she preferred to bathe in private and decided to do it later. For now, she thought it would be a good idea to hunt, and catch something fresh for dinner.

"I'm going out to hunt!" She shouted so that those in the lake could hear her. Turning to those on the shore she asked: "Anyone want to go with me?"

Daud watched the pirates, and frowned slightly. He didn't like them. They seemed undisciplined. He didn't like that... maybe that was just because it was his line of work to stay controlled... or maybe it was because it was chaotic, and he had already seen the tale of chaos

He rose from his crouched position on the bank, turning to the Drow "I'll come... I don't want another night on an empty stomach" He said with a weak smile, drying his hands against the side of his clothing "Besides, it's an exalted task compared to watching them bathe." He glanced out towards the plains as he spoke
