marc0523
The Problem. So, am I the only one who thinks coming back from looting a dungeon with hundreds of pounds of highly sell-able gear in your back pack, only to have to work out which merchant to go to, then barter, click for each item, click yes, rinse and repeat? There are many mods out there which give you an All Powerful Merchant with unlimited money who will buy all your items (even some merchants you can summon) but these, in my opinion, break the gameplay and realism of Oblivion. The FixWhat I am proposing is a traveling merchant who goes past all your houses, picks up items from a barrel outside, then sells these items for you, giving you the gold and taking a 10% commission himself. The merchant could start with very little ability (like yourself) and level up as he sells more and more items, increasing his strength (to carry more stuff) and his mercantile skills (to get a better price). He would then put your money in a jewel box inside your house for you next time he went to one of your houses. How I imagine the merchant working is when you buy a house he would turn up, take all items from a barrel outside the house up to his weight limit, then go to the local town to sell these items, he would then go to the next house to pick up more items, and then onto the next town.He would continue in a loop around all your houses and all towns in the gaming word. The money box would be linked in every home so that if you took the money from one it would go from them all (stopping you having to go to every home to pick up your money) and maybe the loot barrel could do the same. As an extra feature he could maybe be given a shopping list so that you could get fresh ingredients or potions etc. in your home. For buying items a script could be made where you would add a shopping list to the loot barrel, your merchant would then add the items on the list to every home you own (separate purchases for each house). An example of a shopping list would be 10 Heal Health and 10 Heal Fatigue potions, 200 Steel arrows, 50 repair hammers. Once your shopping list was active each of your homes would have this basic stuff ready for use in a wardrobe or chest inside the house. If you took out, say 20 repair hammers, your merchant would replenish the stock next time he went past that house (and take the cash from your money box) Any thoughts?
