Virtual mod install issues - wants to install in the wrong drive?

I was not sure if this was or wasn't the correct place to post this, I would check if it were a Nexus Mod Manager issue specifically, and not it relating to Skyrim, but I own no other mods that use NMM.

After a technical issue with one of the mods installed from the website, changing its format from .7z to .zip so I could open it to customize the mod, NMM opened with an error saying the mod was in the wrong place. I have since replaced it but the issue is still there.

The issue is that, when I put in the virtual mod install folder directory, the one I was previously using mind you, an error comes up, saying to install it on my D: drive rather than my C:, what makes this so peculiar is that the mods are still in the directly I put in! This folder I always used for Skyrim with Nexus, with all the mods already in it, with Skyrim not moving, and no changing of any file directory.

I can give more info if anyone needs it, but I am completely at a loss, anything I look up relating to this says to make the HD for Skyrim the same as the virtual mod install, but it is, and always have, and now it does not seem to work after this minor mod difficult.

I would appreciate any help anyone could give!
