TheDeinonychus
Back in the day, if you placed a section of sea base that was partially in the terrain, the game would remove the terrain around the section, allowing you to build. You couldn't exactly make tunnels through solid rock, but it make building your base a hell of a lot easier. Now that the developers have removed all methods to edit the terrain (since apparently the engine had a hissy fit when you did it), it's become incredibly frustrating to try and place a section of base, only for it to tell you no cause there's a tiny bit of sand in the way. Not sure how difficult this would be, though I've seen where people have edited some of the game's .dll files to allow building anywhere. But I'd prefer this as a mod I can remove if things mess up, rather than hard edits to the game's core files. Anyone familiar with using QMod know how to do this? Or could possibly point me to a guide so I could attempt it myself?
