ohGr
i began playing games at the age of 7, my first game was Commander keen, and i moved on to doom, heretic, hexen and command and conquer, im sure we've all had our classics we just cant let go of, me for example, my cd of Crusader : No Remorse, scratched beyond repair, i aint throwing it out!.recently i dusted off my old disks of Hexen, Heretic, Doom 1, Doom 2 (cd) along with the mission paks for doom, TNT and Pheonix, after playing them on my laptop, i now play them with pride, 0wning anyone who dare challenges at me in a game of doom, because i always get the plasma gun first. so, what were your old favorites (pong and tetris dont count, im sure we all liked them for a little while)

Muennin
One of the earliest episodes of my childhood had me playing an Atari game where you had to plug in this awkward joystick in order to catch fused cannonballs before they struck the ground, while an emancipated Hamburglar character increased the frequency of his droppings atop a grey brick wall as he hovered horizontally at unpredictable intervals. Lots of fun, that. I only wish I recalled the name...
Mojlnir
Hmmm...on PC it was the original SimCity. A had a Genesis console and I think my favorites were General Chaos and Dune. A buddy of mine had a Nintendo and we used to play Techmo Superbowl and Dusty Diamonds All-Star Softball.

Xionith
I'm not sure if this was before 1996 (I was born in '92 so...) but it was a game that came with your computer, with Windows 9-something. I think it was Windows 92 (if that existed) but anyway the game was called "Chips". You were this little green man and you had to navigate a maze with obstacles and stuff... The first game that I bought was (or at least the first FPS game I bought) Star Wars: Dark Forces, the first one in the Jedi Knight Series. Then I bought Star Wars: Rebel Strike... I must of loved Star Wars back then! I wish they could take these old games, fix 'em up with all their new technology so they look as if they just came out (graphics, AI etc. wise). Maquissar
I don't think Windows 92 ever existed... are you sure it wasn't 3.1?However, as regards my favourite oldies - considering "oldie" anythingbefore 1996: - The Spirit of Excalibur (Adventure-RPG) VIRGIN- Lords of the Rising Sun (Strategy) CINEMAWARE- Personal nightmare (Adventure) ?- KGB (Adventure) CRYO- Floor 13 (Strategy) ?- Goal! (Sports) Not sure, but it was by Dino Dini. I played many more, of course, and I still remember some games I playedon my Commodore 64 ("Barbarian", for instance - the first game in whichI could chop my opponent's head! ;) ) but these are the first I remembered, and probably the ones I played most. I played all of these titles on my Amiga2000: The first titles I played on my PC were "Jones in the fast lane" by Sierra,Championship Manager 93/94, and Prince of Persia :) You can find many ofthese games for download (legally!) in any abandonware site. Breton Thief Oriana
A trip back to the early ninetys? when grunge was still cool? where you could wear your baggy jeans, with the biker chain and black shirt with the red plaid over-shirt, and beanie? don't remember it, sorry ^_^ . as for old-school GAMES, I had the reg. nintendo, SNES, 64 for the nineties. also, the Sega genisis, cd, 32x, saturn, dreamcast. and my friends all had the orriginal Playstation, so I was like their god. I remember playing a game like Final Fantasy and it was awesome. I myself had the Mystic Quest one for snes, still looking for FF 2 on snes, but it is a clasic now, so it sells for the price of a brand new Xbox game, which sucks majorly.
