Did Titus Mede II comission his own assassination?

This guy right here makes a damn strong case for Titus Mede II ordering his own assassination, using Mortierre as a liaison, in order to turn himself into a martyr.

The only real flaw in this guy's theory is that, if this were all true, why did he plant a decoy for the dinner party? If his goal was to die a martyr, then why not have the plan work right then and there? Why risk your Penitus Occulotus killing the assassin before he has the chance to track you down on your boat and screw up your martyr plans?

But other than that, it's a pretty solid theory from where I'm sitting.

What do you guys think?

.. no actually the Decoy makes sense, at least o me:

One does NOT want to make it look to ' easy '.

You have to show a " fight " ... the illusion of being " wisdom of 1 step ahead ".

In other words, you want to give the appearance of trying to avoid " THE PLOT ".

The Double was a Chess Pawn, that HAD to fall in order to make THE PLAN look valid and real .... " There is / was someone that was indeed OUT to kill the ETM II ! "

Then w/the death of the Death of Amound Motierre, it would look like he was the ' originator of the contract ' and for selfish ends .... and FAILED.

ADDED - Phone call cut my thoughts off:

Motierre's " guard " is the one that fills in the blanks and testifies that he HEARD Motierre seal the deal w/the D.B. and is indeed the traitor .....
