NMM Wont Recognise Games

Long story short, I changed the name of my steam folder in my Program Files (x86) as for ages I've had two steam folders, one called Steam and the other called Steam (1) after I had needed to reinstall steam a long time ago. Steam (1) being the folder everything ran through etc and Steam being completely empty. I deleted the old steam folder which was empty and not in use and renamed the Steam (1) folder as just Steam, simple enough. Obviously NMM needs to then reconfigure the game directory to accommodate the change in name.

Simple enough, or so it should be.

Since then NMM wont recognize the game files. Every time I go through the process of searching for the games it says it finds the file but then comes up with the error that no game files were found when i click the quickstartup button. I've tried leaving it to find the files through the search, I've tried putting the directory in manually, I've even tried renaming the folder back to Steam (1) and putting the Steam folder back into Program Files (86), and none of it makes a difference. I've also tried deleting and reinstalling NMM and there's still no change. Does anyone know how to fix this as I've been trying for hours and its stressing me out massively. My next step is to try deleting and reinstalling Steam but that's something I wanted to avoid if possible as I will need to transfer over all my game saves etc which is going to take a LONG time

If I had to guess , maybe the issue is related to your registry

when you install programs onto your PC , they are registered to the installation location . so if you just move the files around , the PC won't find the files where they were registered

I don't know if this would cause games to stop loading properly , but I would check if you can even launch your games before trying to reconfigure NMM

maybe try validating game files via Steam , to see that it still sees the games properly

again , I have no idea if this could be the cause of the issues , but I think it's a good enough first step to take , and hopefully should guide us on the path to fixing the issue
