dungeonBird1
hi, its been a while since i played skyrim legendary edition, returned after 4 years and installed skyrim special edition as i heard it supports more core cpus and modern pcs overall. i used to have quite nice texture mods for legendary which made it appear rough but stable graphic wise. but now when i tried to use special edition (added a few mods there too like the unofficial skyrim patch etc) i found the graphics quite strange. as they appear yellowish and more blurry? (no graphic mods were installed) there are so many graphic mods out there that one gets easily confused what to use. are there some mustHave Mods for 2018 skyrim SE? and which ones would you recommend me to use? (so far these are the mods i use(d) for legendary, and tried on Special) any idea?
Vrakyas
Which graphics settings do you have set in your launcher? FXAA is a bit more blurry than TXAA. Do you use ENB? Maybe its settings are messed up? Try it again without ENB. Also don't install Oldrim mods/textures/meshes in SSE, try to find their SSE version on SE Nexus. dungeonBird1
yeah i m using High - Ultra (gtx 1070) on TTA shows highest nope no ENB. yeah i used no texture mods on se so far, i thought it was good enough there since it was released not too long ago. those highRes mods i used for legendary seemed to be really good, but cant find them for SE , or that unofficial highRes patch
Vrakyas
You don't need this official HiRes DLC from LE, because they are already included in SE - or at least SE uses its own Hires textures. Maybe you have configured your monitor to have a warm color temperature? Then the screen will be more yellowish. You could test to reset your monitor to default settings or maybe just play around with the color temperature.
jones177
Hi Here is the difference between my LE with texture mod & vanilla SE. Like Fallout 4, SE has really bad AA. In the tests that I have done at 1440 resolution, no AA is better than FXAA, TXAA & 2x DSR. It also may depend on your hardware. With my GTX 1080 ti any AA or sharpening affects will cause blur & yellowing in the game. With my GTX 1080 there is no blur & yellowing. On both systems the game looks better without AA on. Both games use the same Reshade/ENB. I use Nyclix's ENB-Reshade along with Vivid Weathers because they come close to the "look" I had in LE. It also allows me to edit the Reshade so I can remove effects that don't work with my hardware. Another effect that adds blur is Screen space ambient occlusion. It also causes the ugly "hatch" shadow patterns on the player & NPCs. Right now my SE & LE games look about the same when I am away from cities. In tests I have found that they both use about the same CPU usage & LE modded uses about the same ram as vanilla SE. SE uses more than double the vram(up to 5.8gbs in some places). Even LE with all 2k terrain textures uses less vram than SE vanilla. Later
audiodef
SSAO: Screen space ambient occlusion. Not oscillation. That would be... funky. :)
