Lemmehavit
I am very into making computer software... I just recently found out that I am very good at making setup programs just like the one you used when you installed Skyrim. So, I am offering any Skyrim Nexus modders a free setup program for their mod(s) with no catch. I will make you the setup program that contains your mod and it's default location for the mod is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\the elder scrolls v skyrim\Data for 64bit users or C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\the elder scrolls v skyrim\Data for 32bit users. Now, you may ask why you would want a setup program for your mod right? Well, think about how easy it would be for someone just to download you mod and double click a file and have the rest done for them- especially for those people who download tons of mods at the same time... Anyways, what will be in the setup is your policy for your mod (if you don't have one, I'll make one for you), your mod itself, and a picture of a character using whatever is in your mod while the setup installs. In return, all I ask is that you include my name in your credits- just say, "Lemmehavit- Mod setup creator" and that in the picture included in the setup, is a picture of my character using your mod. For example, in the picture you would see my Skyrim character wearing your armor... Anything I didn't explain for you- email me at [email protected]. Also, you absolutely HAVE TO send me you mod files so I can make the setup, send to the same email! Please give a rep up on my account, its the least you could do- also, add lots of comments! micalov
Want comments? Ok presuming your are being legit but this is going to be blunt because your post is very supicious; Nexus Mod Manager already installs into the correct location so a installation program is not needed unless it a complex multi choice install with many variables, although NMM also supports that with FOMOD scripts, your a brand new user why would ppl trust you not to just dump a nasty little virus or 20 in it? and finally mod users themselves do not really like to download mods as EXE files anyway because of the risk potential and you do not know what you are installing. Lemmehavit
@micalovI really have lot's of better things to be doing rather than making viruses and putting them into setup programs. I also find it sad that that's the first thing you would think I'm doing when I make the setup :( But, I do have to admit that things like that happen all of the time, but seriously, I'm being legit. I just want my kudos increased and I wanna help out the Nexus community.
micalov
Well as I said presuming you are being legit, with mods exe are generally bad, not needed and most minus the most well known mods that do get uploaded are virus that are usually removed pretty quick thanks to excellent staff members and a vigilant community. In this day and ages trols/muppets/little script kiddies will do anything because they are bored or some other BS reason. It is noble wanting to help the community but just chill out help ppl with other stuff even answering questions or funny/useful replies in posts can get you kudos and tbh kudos is not really the be all and end all. Of course all of what I said is my opinion but being a member of the site for a few years and quite active I think it probably represent a quite accurate review of mosts ppl's experiences and feelings, but some one may take you up on the offer. Also welcome to the nexus being new :)
scrivener07
Exes from unknown sources are scary :ohdear: Why dont you try writing fomod install scripts for people. Fomod installers are written in a C# class and compiled during installation. If you know a bit about programming writing installers for mods you enjoy and giving them to a modder is a great way to help the community.
