CTD at certain map locations

Dear dovahkiins!

 

I also have constantly CTD's in a location called witchmist grove where the hagraven Moira lives. Whenever i came close to that small building the game crashes to the desktop. I tried to kill this creature Moira from a distance, but the CTD stayed. The quest related in this location "A night to remember" is already done.

 

To repair this bad situation i tried several things without success:

- deactivate all mods

- de- and reinstall skyrim completly an run to the location in vanilla state.

- use a save game script cleaner on the savefile: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5031/?

- tried the "Clean Savegame Procedure". Have a look here: http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Troubleshooting

 

Is there something else i can try?

I don't want to start the game from scratch, this save have almost 100h on it. :mellow:

 

Only for completeness: I don't play the pancake Skyrim SE, it's Skyrim VR running on my system.

I get the same CTDs with SE that I get with LE. They are caused by the same mods.

 

I got zero CTDs with SE before I installed these mods. All the problem mods in my game spawn NPCs. The only CTDs that I am missing are the ones I got with Wet&Cold & Frostfall(I did not install Frostfall) in LE.

 

The more mods you add to your load list the chances of mod conflicts go up. 1 in 3 mods I try to install have conflicts & cause CTDs. SE has become a modding minefield since I past the 150 mod mark. After getting over the memory issues LE did the same thing.

 

Some persistent CTDs are caused by hardware/OS conflicts. Twice now I have had CTDs that have stopped my progress in a vanilla quest on my Windows 10 gaming computer. After failing to find a solution on the internet/forums I moved the save file to my Windows 7 computer & the CTD was gone. Both computers have the same mods installed.

 

I also feel the the games stability has been degraded by updates. I am not happy with the current situation & it is getting really tiresome.

 

The area shown on the map is really bad. It gets worse once you pass the alchemist shack. If you see the road disappear, don't save, don't quit, do a system reset. The hard crash that can occur in this area can damage/disable the USB controller on your motherboard. It can only be fixed with a bios reset. It is the same with SE & LE. This only occurred with my Intel P67 board that I used with my i7 2600k. My Z170 board experienced a freeze that needed a reset to get out of.

OBIS - It does not cause problems on my Win 7 computer but I had to remove it on my Win 10 computer.

 

Travelers of Skyrim - Minor CTDs

 

Immersive Patrols - Minor CTDs

 

Skyrim Immersive Creatures - Minor CTDs with random spawns turned off. Can cause cells to become no-go areas for up to 3 game days. Some creatures have issues with Ordinator perks.
