Imitatio
Hello, Nexus community. I am trying to install the latest patch for Fallout 3 (1.7) and I have a slight problem... The original install location for Fallout 3 is, C://Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Fallout 3 However, I need it to go to C://Games/Bethesda/Fallout 3. I was wondering if I could just get the raw files it gives you and install them manually, or perhaps figure out a way to change the install location altogether. The reason why it's in a different location is because the Nexus Mod Manager pitches a fit if it's not there. Any help is appreciated, thanks,Imitatio
GrindedStone
Did you know that you can manually set the install directory with the NMM or FOMM/NVMM. It's in settings. You can get the 1.7 patch in official in the Nexus downloads. It's also available on the Fallout 3 official website. If the patch doesn't see where your game is installed automaticly then just move the patch to the install directory for the game. You might need to clean your windows registry. It gets messy over time. The best program I've used was Registry Mechanic. Norton 360 also does this, just not as hardcore as RegMech. You might could ask around an find a trial or shareware version, though I would plan on investing in antivirus or RegMec.
