Pressing x to set teleport marker? What mod is this?

As in the title, if I press x the game asks me if I want to set a teleport marker, or to teleport to a marker. What mod is this a part of, and can I disable that to free up that button?

I thought it was Groovatron at first, but it doesn't look like it.

I suspect 'Convenient Fast Travel Markers' (from the name alone).

Also, Move any "inactive" plugins out of the game "Data" folder. They count against the "plugin cap" because they get loaded by the game engine if found, and can cause "Missing Master" problems. Please see the wiki "Missing Masters" article if you get that error message.

You really need to use a "Merge Patch File" with that collection of mods. Please see the 'Third Rule: The Rule of One' and 'Merge Patch File' sections of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

I rechecked CFTM, and it doesn't appear to be the culprit. It seems like a low level mod that only adds fast travel markers to the world map, so that you could fast travel directly to Caesar's Tent, or the Camp McCarran Supply Shack, or the NCR Tent outside of Primm, for example.

I should've made a merge patch file, but I got lazy when it came to this particular load order. I used to have a lot more mods, but I scrapped it. I kept about half of the mods, and have since added maybe 4 or 5 really small mods, those would be the ones at the very bottom of the list (The bigger mods, installed after YUP, were there from the beginning (Ending with Freeside Open), but they had to be reinstalled to get working correctly (especially the UI mods)). I got the Missing Masters problem twice, but it was an extremely easy fix. NMM highlighted in orange the name of the ESP that caused the problem. One of them was Better New Vegas - Freeside Patch I think.

I don't think I'll have to worry about the plugin cap. My previous load order had more than 150 I think, due to XFO mostly, and it worked fine a lot of the time, but I'm not going to add many more mods than what I have in the load order now, if any. The only actual issue I've had at all is a constant CTD that happened when I tried to enter The Fort, the drawbridge area that holds the door to Caesar's Tent and the Weather Monitoring Station. I found someone who suggested I type "PCB" into the console, and it seemed to work, even if it might stutter while loading if I try to enter that area. I couldn't find the error with FNVEdit.

Do not use an "Auto-purge" (PCB) mod for game play. (That was old advice from before we knew better.) They are designed for debugging by mod creator's only, according to the author of the JIP extensions to NVSE. See the 'Issue: CTD without warning, "Out of Memory error", or stops responding after the Main Menu', "Cause-2", "Solution-3" entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide for the game settings that do the same job.

Your "YUP - NPC Fixes (Base Game + All DLC).esp" should be much higher in your load order. Try running "LOOT". You can make minor adjustments to the order and tell LOOT how to remember them. It's in the documentation under "Metadata".

Afraid I have never encountered that "set a teleport marker, or to teleport to a marker" situation. Does this occur randomly or just under specific circumstances?

It happened any time that I pressed x outside of a menu, I guess. It only happened the once because I was trying to test the Close Terminals mod, which I thought could be closed with either X or E. Either that's not true, or the teleport thing interfered with that

A mod that deals exclusively with the game's hud probably isn't going to add a teleport feature, and it's definitely not going to be present in the game only due to a load order problem.

The only problem I have with the hud is some of the Darnified effects are missing, purely due to the FO4 Looting Menu mod. If I got rid of the latter mod, the former would be fully functioning again, so it's a problem I can and have lived with since I installed it.

"A mod that deals exclusively with the game's hud probably isn't going to add a teleport feature", while true, does not cover the case of a mod that is altering the action taken when the "X" key is pressed. If it's happening outside of a menu, then it's being detect in the HUD or UI. Install order (distinct from "load order) can account for that. Some mod has altered the action taken when that key is pressed. Might be triggering an "eventhandler" in a script, in which case you are only going to know about it if it's in the mod description. If you can, take a look at which might be remapping that key action (possibly through MCM).

As logic doesn't seem to helping to pin down the source, looks like you may have to engage in "mod isolation". Please see 'Mod Conflict Isolation' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.

Sorry if I came off a bit.. testy, in the messages above. Anyways, I went through every mod top to bottom in xEdit and found the culprit. I investigated the mod in game and found an actual player home in the teleportation menu, the Stasis Chamber option in the screenshot. With this in mind, I knew it was not a HUD mod unless the HUD mod happened to add at least 3 cells to the game. I checked every mod that added a cell, and it turns out it was my original guess, Groovatron.

I haven't seen any way to disable the feature within Groovatron, but I'm sure it's possible. Otherwise, it is likely you could "turn" it off by deleting the feature in xEdit, and never sending an NPC to Stasis as that would likely crash the game. I only ever really use Groovatron for the Long Reach and Grab features anyways, because the Grab feature is great for the Unlimited Companions mod.

Most people looking for help are already highly frustrated and "testy", especially the longer it takes to resolve. I don't take it personally.

Good that you narrowed it down to the Groovatron. According to the description on this download page, you can change the assigned keys in the "Settings Menu" in "Groovy Snacks". But also:

NOTE: You must have the Groovy Coin in your inventory for NVSE additions to work.
