Exodus1161
I downloaded an armor pack a while ago, it had a whole quest thing attached to it, but when i eventually got it, i was disappointed to see that it really wasn't that good, is there a way to edit the AR (Armor Rating) of it but still keeping the rest of the mod intact? LoginToDownload
If you don't mind some CS work, it's easy. First, open up the CS, select Data, then click the mod you want to edit the armor of and click "Details". This should give you a general idea of what the armor will be called, with the prefix and such. Then load up the mod, select Items/Armor in the branch-list to the left, and find the armor you want to change. Then you can change its AR to whatever you want and save. Exodus1161
yes but then it only saves as a new .esp and doesn't include the attached quest, i want to "Overwrite" the existing .esp but still keeping the quest attached to the armor.
LoginToDownload
Do you press "Set as Active File" after selecting the .esp in question?

LoginToDownload
Wait, why wouldn't it include the attached quest? Are they the same .esp? Are you changing the armor's name? So confusing...
Exodus1161
ok so if i save the .esp to over right the original the .esp size is dropped back to 2kb where originally it was around 15, to it looses all the other data excluding that of the parts i changed, if i create a new .esp with better AR and rename it to something so it would load first, eg putting "a" in front of it, then nothing changes, the AR stays the same. LoginToDownload
It shouldn't be anything "Save As" related at all, it should just automatically save your chages. I really have no idea what could be causing this. I could take a look at it myself, but I'm not sure what the mod in question is. The person may not want people tampering with his/her mods for non-personal uses...
piratemuffin
Are you opening the master file as well as the Mod?
jaysus
strange problem indeed exodus lol... well however:if you set the mod you modify as "active" in the load screen you modify it directly...if you set NO mod as active your changes get saved in a new *.esp and affect the mods prior in the load order and the original mod stays intact
