Washburn81
I recently upgraded to 1.5.24.05 from 1.4.21 and have noticed that the sounds are very laggy just as the post title states. Voices are extremely laggy and environmental sounds are very crackly. They seem to stutter sometimes yet my framerate will be above 40. Just curious to see if anyone has some insight as to what is wrong.. I rolled back to 1.4.21 earlier and my sound was still buggy, where it wasn't before my initial upgrade. Tidus44
Whats your sound card and what is your video card? What mods are loaded? Internal speakers or external? What have you checked/done to identify the problem? Willing to help, but need information. One thing to check, do you have a sound card and a video card with a built in sound card and both are working?

One thing to check, do you have a sound card and a video card with a built in sound card and both are working?Using Internal at the moment (Laptop) Realtek High Definition Audio. Audio is working, sometimes there is absolutely no lag at all, but a large portion of the time there is.Video Card is an Asus GTX 260M 1gb.Ive used the Direct X diagnostic tool to check and found no errors. Im going to remove all mods and try then to see if there's a conflict in a second.Mods loaded are as follows: Extended Colors.esmMTOH.esmUpdate.esm(i know its not a mod lol)Black Tower Armor.esmRaceCompatability.esmUnofficialSkyrimPatch.espWarzones Civil unrestN_43 Hair packVidala'sDressRemoveAmbientInteriorFogRevampedExteriorFogWeapons and armor fixesBecome a vampire at startFalkreath ExpantionVampire Skintone FixBobsarmorEconomics of SkyrimRealistic Water TexturesAdvanced WherewolfLost art of the blacksmithlegendary smithing upgradesBetterFollowers- BP/DialogSmithing perk overhaulRL- Lights BFixedEyeAdaptionVampire Eye FixCrimson TideRans CharGen MorphMaintain Vamp appearanceGreen Water FixBetter Dynamic SnowNatural Skyrim RainRealistic LightingImaginatorDynavision and some random Armor addons and hair packs. I dont really have any for sounds. I know a few add some but Im not sure if that's a problem =/ Edit : I have tried changing the audio format to 16 bit before and still had the same problem. Just tried again with only having Skyrim.esm loaded and it seems to have helped. Ill keep working on it thoughEdit 2 : I also have disabled the "Natural Bass" option under the Dolby tab. Not sure if that helped or not Edited April 30, 2012 by Washburn81
Tidus44
I wouldn't think the problem is the game or the mods you are running. Realtek HD (you have my deepest sympathy)- Couple of things; Access Realtek settings (icon in the System tray?) and check for the setting "Front Audio" jacks; turn it "off." Try turning the sound off and reboot to get a new IRQ as it may be sharing one with some other application and that is causing the lag as the other device has priority over the sound. Check the driver (reinstall) as it may be corrupt or old. On Realtek, to reinstall do this1. Uninstall the Realtek drivers.2. Reboot the computer.3. The system should revert to the built-in HD Audio drivers provided by Microsoft.4. Uninstall the Microsoft HD Audio drivers.5. Reinstall the (latest) Realtek drivers.
