AndragonFirefly
So I was working on a new mod in the creation kit and decided to go into Dragonsreach to look at something and it crashed. Creation Kit crashes are nothing new. Everything could be hunky dory and boom, crash. I think there is an automatic crash timer too. But I tried several times with the same result while loading up that cell. So I decided to open up the creation kit with just skyrim.esm and update.esm loaded, as if starting a brand new unnamed mod. Without doing anything after it all loaded up, I attempted to load Dragonsreach cell up and CRASH. Tried multiple times the same way and still crash. It is almost like it can't handle the memory from all the NPCs in that cell or something. IDK. What would make the creation kit crash like that when in the game, that cell is working just fine. I use noble skyrim retexture, tkaa has the Jarl's children redone, pretty much all the females have been replaced, and the Jarl himself. Nothing changed or added to Dragonsreach other than that. Oh, and realistic lighting. I never load these up in the creation kit unless working on them individually or it automatically loads one up because of a dependency. Tasheni
I didn't try to load Dragonsreach in the render window, but during my intensive mod creating since three years I never experienced crashes from the ck with the exception I did something terribly wrong. CK has no error handler and crashes if it simply can't do what you want. If you can't load a cell either the cell is corrupt or ck - I guess it's ck because you said the cell is working without issues ingame. First thing I would try is to install the ck new and use an untouched ini file.
