Arboren
Hello fellow modding enthusiasts!I have had this idea of a mod in my head for a while now, and would love to see it done, or help to make it for myself (though admittedly, I've only opened CK a handful of times, so probably not going to be done by me).My inspiration came from Ordinator's Chalice of Tears -perk. Since it works on both whether you're undead or diseased, it got me thinking about a build based on being diseased plague-mage, rather than going the usual route of simply turning into a vampire. Ataxia seemed like easy enough downside to live with. But I felt unsatisfied. So I started thinking my own disease I could inflict upon my character. I wanted it to be something like vampirism/lycanthropy in a way that it buffs the character, with downsides (well, werewolves have generally few to no downsides to being a werewolf in Skyrim, but something like Moonlight Tales allows forced transformations as one downside). So in my mind I mixed effects like these together:- 20% to Speech (because gold is easy enough to come by anyway, and being diseased doesn't make one more attractive)- 10% move speed- 50% disease resistance(- maybe reduced armor rating / resistance to elements)+ 25% poison resistance+ 50% Health regen Well, it had more buffs at first, but then, in my fevered brainstorming, I came up with a side to this disease that would work like this: other diseases would have their effects turned into positive ones. So Bone Breaker Fever would increase stamina instead of decreasing it, for example. This would turn the character a bit of a masochistic disease enthusiast, "gotta catch them all", and getting the full power of the disease unlocked would take a bit time. And it could offer a playstyle outside of vampirism/lycantrophy, both that makes disease catching impossibility. And without some other mods, it would passively also discourage player to seek blessings of Divines, since those would cure well-earned diseases, like one might if they were in the servitude of a Daedric Prince. For not having ridiculously OP buffs from the disease though, with Rockjoint and Droops stacking melee damage for example, they could be toned down a bit in this turned state: perhaps Rockjoint would only buff 5% your weapon damage, Rattles would increase stamina recovery just by 25%. And perhaps not turn Sanguinare Vampiris into a positive buff, as turning into a vampire is something they would want to avoid because of disease resistance and thematic reasons. Perhaps immunity to Sanguinare Vampiris could be considered? Could it be done? Receiving this disease, this blessing, would be something I'd want to have tied to Peryite, as it seems fitting and that poor Prince needs more love. An alternate, or additional, reward from the quest The Only Cure, perhaps? I see a problem with this though: should player cure this special disease, by accident or otherwise, they couldn't get it back. So I thought it could be better to have it as a consumable that player learns to craft after the quest. This would make the disease less linked to Peryite, as it isn't directly given by the Daedric Prince himself in this option, but it could be named after the Prince to make this link clear. It would also encourage character's choice: they choose to subject themselves to Peryite's 'blessing', like one could seek to submit to Molag Bal or Hircine. And that would be it. Or, well, I do have a ton of crazy ideas, like not being able to heal from potions, but poisons would heal the player instead of damaging them, but I'm not sure if that would work, or be really a good idea. Truly, I do not know if any of my ideas could actually be implemented into the game, but I really felt like pouring my ideas to somewhere. So, thanks for reading!
