Cthorthu
Hi, I have a question: How does weapon accuracy stat works? - Does the accuracy of a weapon influence on the hit chance on VATS? - Does the accuracy of a weapon influence on the shot dispersion while hip shooting? - Does the accuracy of a weapon influence on both cases? I researched online, but it seems a case of mythology that no one knows how to clarify. Thanks and good hunting
Roentgens
VATS hit chance mostly affected by weapon range. Accuracy is a very small component of it. Ingame accuracy value is a generated composite value of many hidden ingame variables. Actual accuracy is governed by cone of fire values, which vary between shooting stance and ADS/hipfire. Weapon has base cone of fire, which is then modified by multipliers.
Cthorthu
Ok, in hip-fire, the hip-fire modifiers change the size of the crosshairs. But, does the accuracy of a weapon influence on the shot dispersion inside this crosshair? If I like to shoot from the hip, is it worth improving the weapon accuracy stat? Or does it not influence? Thanks for answering!
Roentgens
No, I don't think it is worth it to improve the weapon accuracy stat for hipfire purposes. Many scopes increase the accuracy stat, but it does so by only improving the aim down sight accuracy. Very few mods improve base cone of fire which is what really affects hipfire accuracy. Best way to improve cone of fire accuracy is through perks such as Steady Aim.
