Brumsly
I'm not having this issue with all mods, but some mods that I download manually end up having nothing in them. I'm trying to download Wiedzmin's Lighting Mod for instance, and every time I download it there's nothing inside. I've tried opening it using several different Windows apps, I'm using 9zip right now, but nothing works. What's strange is I've never had this issue before, and it's only happening with some mods. Basically I download it, and 9zip doesn't show anything inside. Some apps have said it's unreadable or something similar, but nothing seems to work. I'm not sure what else to say, I hope I'm articulating the issue well enough for someone to understand. Any help/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm not a computer/file genius but I'm usually pretty good about troubleshooting an issue and eventually figuring things out on my own, but with this I'm completely lost. The only difference I've found between this mod and one that works for me, is under properties, the one I can open is a "9 Zip (.7z)" type file, while the one I can't figure out is a "9 Zip (.rar)" type file. I'm not sure how relevant that is, again, I'm not very bright. Please, someone out there have pity on me. Again, I click on a working mod file and it leads me to the inner file that begins with "mod", like "modCustomLocalizationFix". This one however opens up to nothing when using an app like 9zip. Brumsly
I've now tried using an app called RAR Opener, and it won't allow me to open it either. I go to open/unpack it and I get stuck on a loading screen, then when I cancel it claims "error opening archive".
KoalaNalle
Download and use 7zip. I've had zero issues with that.
